I have known a few in my lifetime. All regular people. Many in my cong. partake at home in private with their families. When I was a child, everyone partook of the emblems, but that was until things changed. -

Types and anti types
by Deltawave inaccording the watchtower study of may 10th, it has been made clear no prophetic meaning should be given to a a scripture or passage unless the bible itself gives clear interpretation of it.
therefore daniel 7 especially gives it's fulfillment to nebuchadnezzar only.
no future kingdom or 2520year wait til 1914. no gentile times or "this generation".

During that study this previous Sunday, only two people in our "stiff necked" congregation provided answers to the questions. The rest of the congregation, being older, stubborn and protesting silently, refused to raise their hands. The elder conducting the study from the platform quickly skimmed through it. We did not consider that special article on pages 17, 18. Not everyone in the Organization is swallowing this spoiled alphabet soup as easily as some of the others.
One of the circuit overseers years ago referred to our congregation as being a "stiff necked people" because they are so stubborn and slow to accept any change.

Oh but the smurf story is definitely true. I heard it from a Witness who would never spread falsehoods.

Icons, venerated symbols, and organizations
by CloseTheDoor ina recently published article called "a feast to jehovah" at http://meletivivlon.com/2015/05/12/a-feast-to-jehovah/ discusses the use of icons, venerated symbols and organizations, the jw.org logo, and more being used in the org.some of you might find it interesting as some of the comments on the site (and in other article) which are often from current (but thinking) jws.

Why would you want to wake up before the 90s?
by John Aquila inif you were a jw in the late 70s into the late 80s you might have been one of those brothers or sisters that just happened to be in the right kingdom hall and with the right people.
during that time being a jw wasnt too bad if you were able to establish the right connections.
a person could pioneer for a while and be appointed as a ministerial servant in a year or two and within 5 years you could be an elder in your twentys.

A lot of Witnesses I have spoken to in my congregation and in the region have become numb to the "it's almost over", "here comes the new system" hype. But then there are others that think ISIS could be a herald to Armageddon. Most of the younger kids now have no care about it whatsoever. They're only interested in their JW.org logos on their ipads. -

I have a border collie, and it is considered to be among the smartest dog breeds. Even though he is smart, Butch doesn't know the difference between Sunday and Wednesday. -

There are other files that they keep, such as disciplinary action, notes, any correspondence you had between you, elders and the WT. A brother I knew was able to obtain some of those notes, but not all of them. -

Pioneering in the 50, 60s was about idealism. The end of the world was near, Armageddon or not. did not even think about paradise. The HMS "wtBtS" has been re-named (no Champagne broken on the bow) "jWorg". the hot air of doctrine is at a lull, yet the ship is tacking vigorously as ever, now the crew are required to man the oars more vigorously or via pledged "contributions" fuel the hopeless voyage, with no destiny on the horizon. The sea of humanity was actually a better, natural place and still is.
Well said, prologos.
