  clearly, electrons and protons have a certain mass, light has a particular speed and so on - why should any of.

  Before it does so, lots of interesting things can happen but ultimately it's going to be cold and dark and motionless.

  That is the likely outcome based on the information we currently have but it is not established fact yet, current estimates put matter at 5% of the universe, 35% dark matter and 60% dark energy which would lead to a continually expanding and dying universe but these sort of discoveries have the habit of being trumped with yet more information which gives a different answer. I reckon 10 years will give a more definative answer

  i thought it might be nice to see some positive things mentioned about jw's.

  now, i know mentioning these things may be hard given the experiences here, but i've yet to find a group of people who don't have something positive about them.

  if there weren't something positive, no one would ever join.

  They do the jobs most do not want to do, seriously who wants to be a window cleaner but they need cleaning

  Some are genuinely nice people, misguided people but nice all the same

  The problem with these questions is akin to a blind man describing an elephant after feeling its tail, we simply do not have enough information to arrive at an accurate answer. Because we do not have all the information we are forced to insert concepts like "dark matter" to make the equations work. I think we will have the answer within our lifetime

  i find it interesting reading posts from ex-witnesses or those that are slipping away and yet the terminology is still brain-washed into us.

  i mean, i've managed to stop using the terms myself.

  sometimes i might catch myself using the term "the truth" or "brother" or "sister", but i quickly correct myself.. the fact is for me, as much as i agree with a lot of their values and beliefs, those people were not my "brothers and sisters" nor was the organization "the truth".

  Dear brothers and sisters

  How refreshing it is to have this bounty of non spiritual food selflessly prepared for our non spiritual nourishment. As the end of the WTBTS approaches us at a rate which some feel is deceptively slow should we slow our endevours? Surely not! Take heart that all over the world ex witnesses everywhere are leaving in their droves. Follow the apt advice from Rev 18:4 "Get out of her my people!"

  Whether it makes you think you agree, disagree, get annoyed, feel all warm and fuzzy

  As long as it does not make you look at the computer screen, realise that the 10 seconds you invested in reading that post are gone forever and get annoyed that you bothered to turn your computer on in the first place
