Hot Food at the DCs past...What was it like?
by bronzefist ini came in to the "loving" organization when they had the nasty cold food so i dont know how good the hot cooked food was.
my ex says it was pretty good, but should i have belived her?

stifling my sex drive, and then exploiting it by using it to get me into a cult, hardly qualifies god as being loving.
and neither does continuing to stifle the sex drive after i am trying to leave the cult and quite likely using the hounders to reclaim me as their slave.. i found another web site that any theist should urgently look up before looking into any religion, whether jehovah's witnesses or any other "christian" or islam religion.

Maybe the problem lies in the association. I don't recall the Bible saying anything about how God felt when he wiped people out. Did he gleefully kill thousands? Were the actions arbitrary...on a whim? We attempt to justify our actions based upon necessity as we see it. Others may or may not see the same necessity. Perfect justice considers necessity.
Sorry i just buy that, are you saying if God felt bad about killing thousands of INNOCENT babies that makes it all better? What sense did the flood make? Kill everyone but leave a few imperfect men to start all over again? Just plain stupid, clearly within a short space of time he would have the same problems. In fact a few generations down the line he has to confuse the languages because things have got so bad. Perfect justice my ass. It's all cool though if you want to worship a non existant, murderous, super jealous killing space alien then that is your choice. Myself......... not a hope

I would point out there is absolutely no scriptural basis for pre or early teen baptism, in fact don't they critisise Catholics for infacnt baptism? The only baptisms in the bible that are recorded are those of adults, hell Jesus was 30!!!!. Then back it up with there own anti birthday analogy, only 2 birthdays in the bible both end in death, only baptisms in bible are of adults

I think some of you are a little off with your thinking of modern JW's. The attitude seems now to be more along the lines of "We believe the teachings of the bible via the WTBTS however we have seen they are human and flawed, ultimately Jehovah will judge if they have done anything wrong and put it right" If they said you cannot do this and had to do that a modern JW would probably look at whether it was scriptural and make a decision that the society are wrong and jehovah will understand and make it all right. You see it happening on the education front now, modern JW's do get an education and proper jobs even though are DC's they are advised to PIONEER, PIONEER, PIONEER!!! Years ago no young JW would have contemplated university

but when i was a kid, growing up in the '80s, i didn't know of a single witness, myself included, who didn't believe the end was close.

This is the thing, i think JW's on the surface believe the end is near but deep down know it is not. Seriously think about it, if some being came to you and said "in one years time the world will end" would you not be out as much as possible warning people what they need to do, you would NEVER stop trying with your family, you would look like a nutjob and I mean more of a nut job than JW's do. However it is a really lukewarm attitude JW's have, considering they believe BILLIONS of people are going to die including members of their own families they are a bit carefree about it all. Is this the attitude of people who GENUINELY believe the end is around the corner?

I love how "Christians" try to defend the OT God. Let's work with a touch of logic here
1) If you believe in the biblical God you do so becasue of the contents of the bible, there is no way you would come up with this God on your own. Every idea you have of God is based on what the bible has told you
2) The OT God has exhibited traits we would more associate with people like Hitler or Stalin. He has already killed almost the entire planets population via the flood including the babies and children around at the time. Killed an entire generation of innocent Egytian firstborns, killed the innocent people of Sodom and Gomorra (unless you are naive enough to think there were no babies or children there), had a angel kill 187000 assyrian soldiers in one night even though they were doing their job, allowed Job to have his life completely destroyed along with his wife killed for what is basically a bet you know but that was alright as God gave him a new wife!, is ridiculously jealous, shows signs of moving the goalposts ie the regular isrealites are smited for trivialities but King David when knocking off Bathsheba's bloke so he could ave his wicked way with her is give a slap on the wrist ........ but wait God causes her to lose her baby. What has God got against babies anyway??
3) The usual defense against these charges is "He is God he can do what he wants, it is His world and universe". Fair enough but if He wants worship and resepct he has to earn it, you do not get it JUST because you made everything. You can force it from people but then God loses his claim to universal sovereignty
Conclusion: If the biblical God is real then yes as creator of everything He can do whatever the hell he likes, he can be as bipolar as he wants, he can be selective and have favourites, however if he wants worship without forcing it then he needs to sort his murderous act out, having the right to be a git because you control everything does not mean you should do it. How can I have a higher set of morals than this "loving" god

usa were poor.. i was impressed with the england fans not booing the american national anthem, sung beautifully by kelly rowland.
a bit different to the ricky hatton fight in vegas.

For the record The U.S now has a decent team with a lot of it's players plying there trade in Europe, only 4 players play in the MSL
Before the england game their last 3 results were: U.S 2 Sweden 0, U.S 2 Mexico 2, U.S 3 Poland 0.... all of those results against decent opposition, the U.S in the England game also packed the defence are very hard to break down
Hooliginism is highly prevelant across all of europe and you don't know what football fighting is is you have not watched Brazilian league football so kindly stop talking out of your ass about things you clearly have no knowledge of whatsoever
