  Who Really Has The Truth(tm) Anyway?

  talk to any jw and they are convinced that not only do they posses the truth, but it is the only truth and nothing but the truth.

  talk to born-again christians and they are convinced that god hears their prayers, they've got it right and jw's are wrong for not believing in the trinity.

  then we have the mormons.

  My understanding of the bible is that Jesus made it possible for us to have what is in store for us after we die. He flat out says that the only way is through him.

  From what I hear from non extreme type religions, is that is all that is required. I imagine a person could have different religions, different viewpoints etc, but it all comes down to belief and accepting Jesus as our savior. I know that sounds different, and sure feels different to even say it.

  So, perhaps there is no religion that has "The Truth."

  Then again, if one does not believe the bible at all, or in a God, then it really doesn't matter. Me personally, I would rather error on the side of caution. I have no reason not to believe the bible, and that everything comes through Christ. Don't think I want to know the option if I am wrong.

  Los Angeles drunk driving

  a year or two ago, there was a case in la about a man drunk driving, and hits a witness.

  the witness ultimately died, but would have lived had he taken blood.. the problem was that the district attorney's office had was what to charge the drunk driver with.

  the fact is that the guy would have lived, but in fact died from his religious beliefs.

  A year or two ago, there was a case in LA about a man drunk driving, and hits a witness. The witness ultimately died, but would have lived had he taken blood.

  The problem was that the District Attorney's office had was what to charge the drunk driver with. The fact is that the guy would have lived, but in fact died from his religious beliefs. Death resulting from an accident like this would of course have much more severe legal consequences.

  Did anyone hear what happened? What was the charges and verdict?

  i would like to stress that although i have good reason to be angry and bitter, nothing i say here is said in anger but only in sadness.

  i write this to say that if i could take back many of my words i said in that experience , i would.

  Would You Now Feel Uncomfortable Taking Blood?

  now that you know about the truth of the blood doctrine, would you feel, even a little bit uncomfortable agreeing to take a blood transfusion?

  btw, my mother asked me if i would still honor her wishes for refusal of blood.

  i told her that even though my view has changed, i would respect her decision, even if i felt that it was wrong.

  Hell

  for those of you that still believe in the bible, or god, i have a question:.

  the witnesses teach that there is no such thing as a fiery hell, where a person is tormented forever.

  that is about the only thing that i still kind of believe from all their teachings.. i have a hard time believing that a god of love would torment anyone forever.

  he has a prepared speech but he keeps saying nuc-you-lar instead of nuc-le-ar.

  i can't stand it.. you would think his people would walk him through correct pronunciation.

  News From Circuit Assembly

  I can only speak about the U.S. because I live here, but this country was founded because of wanting religious freedoms, and most of the current political leaders in this country right now are religious at least in belief.

  For the WTS really to believe that this country is going to turn on religions and shut them down, they are quite naive.

  But the current "attacks" of the WTS right now will certainly drive the point home. I can see them now, talking about the lawsuits, the articles in the papers and magazines, the television coverage, all pointing towards their prophecy of them turning on the religions. What a bunch of crap.

  What the Mob Could Teach The Watchtower

  i was reading an account of the decline of the new york mob in usa today and found some .

  parallels with the watchtower.. too much publicity and exposure: the 'teflon don' liked his armani suits and media.

  presence - but this intensified the attention his organization received from authorities.. older, wiser leaders ( carlo gambino) realized that keeping a low profile was important.. the end of 'omerta' - mob figures used to maintain a code of silence but this started.

  Many people participate in business and trade, and do not realize who the backing is. To assume that the Mob is not in power anymore, is a mistake. Sure, they have had problems, but they are still there. Could the WTS hire a construction firm or someone else that is connected? Sure, as well as anyone else could.

  If anything, the Mob has found ways to not be so noticed.

  when i was a witness, we would sometimes get people who were disfellowshiped or disassociated that protested the assemblies or kingdom hall.

  perhaps there are a few who have done this on this board.

  i remember a few comments made by people in the congregation when they saw these people.

  Just want to add that I agree whole heartedly with jourles on their post.

  There certainly is time to stand up for oneself, or to take action as in evil and crimes being commited against us.
