We all know what the witnesses are after, and serving the needs of worldy people is not high up on their list.

AN E-MAIL I GOT from an anonymous Jehovah's Witness who read my story
by Terry inon randy's freeminds site my personal story: my life in jehovah's service appears.
it is sad that you publish information on jehovah's witnesses.. you even title it, my life in jehovah's service.. but you know nothing about what it means to be one of jehovah's witnesses.. .
so you should get your information from people, like me, who know.

How do you imagine the world 10 years from now?
by JH ini think that 10 years from here, we still won't be in the jw new system.
i also think that gas will cost 4 times what we pay now.. many more natural disasters will happen, like the tsunami and hurricane in new orleans.. there will be a financial crash .
living conditions will be harder, less clean water, more pollution.

If you look at the hi-tech stuff that was out there 10 years compared to today, we probably would be very suprised. I don't think that even touches the changes in the tech world that we will see in the next 10 years.

Do you still use Jehovah's name in prayer assuming you still pray?
by JH in.
if you do pray, will you use the name that's above all other names....says the watchtower.. if not, what name do you use?.

I feel using God's name, however it is pronounced, is inappropriate.

Bush appeared though and used up plenty of resources for his visit. Nice when you are starving to death eh?
Blows my mind. First, many are complaining that Bush didn't go there fast enough, and now that he has, he is using up resources that could have been used elsewhere? That just doesn't make any sense at all.
The fact is, those who hate Bush with such a passion will never be happy with what he does, and will always complain. Simply the way it is. Nothing he can do will satisfy you until he is out of office.
Before you go off on what I have to say, there are those who would complain about was or was not being done if there was a democrat in office too. So it goes both ways.

Blows my mind how quickly people jump on the bandwagon and blame Bush. No matter what he does, or doesn't do, it won't make most people happy.
People on this board have no clue what really goes on behind the scenes in a situation like this. For all we know, maybe he is doing everything possible. Maybe he isn't. But complaining about it isn't doing any good either.
The fact is, that those who live in the area have known for many years that this was a problem. They should have made it a priority to get ithandled before disaster happened. Forget all the help they may or should have gotten from the government. This is their city. They should have figured this out a long time ago.
That being said, what has happened, sucks, and every resource should be made available to help all those people.

Your high school teachers, good or bad memories?
by greendawn ingoing back to the days of your high (secondary) school what sort of memories do you have of your teachers?
were they competent in teaching and caring about you personally or were they inept, rude and indifferent?
if you met them today how would you feel and react towards them?

I had an English teacher who was awesome. Great guy, and if I could find him, I would buy him dinner in a heartbeat. Actually had him as my teacher from 7th grade through 12th, as he had changed schools at the same time I did.
I have tried looking for him, but have not found him yet.

I have heard some other countries offering their help. However, I am not sure if this is a pr move on their part. Also, how much help will actually be given. Will it even be close to the amount of help the US puts out there? Will there be organized man power coming over to help? Will there be a large cash donation? What will the extent of help be?
