Who watched the Jackson Interview ?

i am sitting here watching this shocking interview.

the reporter spent 8 months with this um, person.

i cannot believe how bizarre mr. jackson is.... and it has given me the willies.

I just finished watching the show, and what I thought before still stands even more so now. The fact is, he had a childhood far different than ours. In fact, it really was not a childhood at all. The abuse, the fame, etc.

I think musically he is brilliant, and I believe he has a giving heart toward helping others more than most people could ever dream of having. There is no doubt in my mind that he has created a childhood for himself, surrounding himself with things of a child.

He is a child at heart. No more, and no less.

Is his behavior strange? Sure. But I do believe it is all innocent. I don't believe that he could hurt anyone, especially a child.

I never believed before that he molested the kid, and after watching this interview, I still don't believe it.

Time travel- if you could...would you?

i was recently looking at a picture that showed my city almost a hundred years ago.

i started trying to imagine the scene, but in color, and what it would have been like.. they say if time travel was possible, you must be careful, for what you do could alter the future.. though i know it is not possible, i think it would be fantastic to do so.. so, would you do it if you could?

what time era would you go to?.

What was your most embarassing moment?

mine was at the kh giving a talk - got muddled up and almost said the f word into the mike.

in fact - i said it in my mind or under my breath and then panicked because i thought i had said it out loud but the audience didn't seem to react so i new i must have not said it out loud.

i wonder if anyone noticed me breaking into a cold sweat........... anyone got any more?

I was doing the closing prayer to go out in service on the weekend, and I started praying to Jesus half way through. No one ever said anything. Probably because no one was paying attention anyways.

Bashing JW's?. Why not bash Christianity instead?

i've read a lot of things on this and other web sites that condemn jw's, and i agree that jw's have a huge spiritual awakening coming to them, but i think christianity as a whole has that coming to them.. people have compared what they see in the jw org.

to the inquisition for example.

i agree, but have they forgotten that the inquisition and many other evil things have transpired during so-called christianity.

I do not believe that Christianity and the JW's are the same thing. I am a Christian myself, but I don't believe that means that I must belong to some organization or religion. Jesus taught that the road to salvation was through him, not some man made organization.

People are people regardless of race or nationality, and they will fight for countless causes. Doesn't mean that all are right, nor does it mean all are wrong. Being Christian doesn't mean that automatically you do no wrong, as we well know.

So to me, to label ALL of something good or bad, does not make sense. Whether that be JW's in general, Christians, or members of any certain race, nationality, career, etc. I judge people on their character, period.

A permanent jury system

there have over the years been many high profile court cases, and at times i am amazed at how stupid the jury group is.

many higher educated people in the jury pool cannot serve because of work, etc.

so there ends up many times, (not always) a group of jurors that are unemployed, uneducated, etc.

Currently in California the juror gets a whopping $5.00 for the entire day of jury service. The average guy who barely makes ends meet for his family will almost always find a way out (hardship clause) because as much as he may want to help out and do his civic duty, he cannot afford it. If he were in a trial, for a week or two, it would kill them financially.

The first step, at a minimum, should be that the juror get paid what he would during his/ her day job.

Hubby passed away this morning...

i want to thank all those that helped and encouraged me in my hard times!..hubby passed away from his cancer this morning.

i am so sad my heart is broken.

we decided to go ahead and have a memorial for him this weekend at the kingdom hall he went to.

Do You Feel Better Since You Stopped Meetings?

so many witnesses have been ill. i'm not talking about the flu or a cold, either.

many witnesses suffered from ailments that were not necessarily common to most people.

i know of jw's that had to literally run out of the meetings every week because they said they were allergic to perfumes and different scents.

It is so refreshing not having to go to the meetings. I personally never had anxiety attacks related to going to the meetings, but know several that have. Once they stopped going, the attacks went away. Their body was telling them that they just could not keep doing it.

Now our constitution allows for a jury by your peers. Is this actually what is happening? I agree that should be the case, but there are many trials where the defendent gets off because of some idiots on the jury.

What do you think of a permanent jury system. You could take a group of people from all walks of life, and pay them to be a juror. Maybe have a certain level of schooling needed, or maybe have a wide variety of careers before they came to do this. Perhaps they could even be paid whatever they made in their career. But this would be their job.

Even more realistic perhaps, would be making it easier for those who could not normally serve due to finances. Maybe they get paid for their week or two of service with whatever they normally make. Make rules that they not lose their job when they got back.

Just seems like something has got to be done.

I know that cases like OJ were extreme, but several times over the last couple of years I have paid special attention to trials on tv or radio, listening in on the actual trial at times, and the evidence is so overwhelming, but they still take forever to come up with a verdict.

What do you all think?

mark did another 30 min.

today on the jw child abuse issue with an attorney from here who handles abuse cases.

elder mike was back on and made a bigger fool of himself than last week, this attorney says he has dozens of jw's who call email him every week concerning sex abuse.. mark was a little surprised to discover how many pending lawsuits there are against the wts, several here in spokane.

Again, I have to say, whoever is willing to talk about the WTS problem, whether tv or radio, or print has my support.

Like mentioned above, Fuhrman was used as a scapegoat with the OJ trial. Whatever he did or did not do, had nothing to do with OJ's guilt. Here is a case where there were a bunch of idiots on a jury, and even if OJ admitted guilt, he still would not have been found guilty by this group.
