Really, the whole day was a wasted one. Regardless of the time it started, when you count all the time to get ready for the meeting, and then to get home and unwind from the meeting. All growing up I never, ever had a day on the weekend free. One morning was the meeting, the other was service.

I do believe that there a few witnesses that have common sense, and they realize that the whole DFing and DAing stuff is crap.
I know a very few witness, that though active, will associate even if on a limited basis with friends that have left the organization. Don't talk about it, don't announce it, but they will do it.

Your home security code?
by Outaservice insome time ago, i asked this question on the old h2o, but many of you are new.
i'm curious.. how many of you, when you were jw's had the security code '1914' in your home system?.
i think a lot of jw's were subjecting themselves to robbery with that number.

Funny, I never did,nor ever would have used those numbers, but it doesn't suprise me that some would have. I saw an email address recently of an old friend, and he had the 1914 number in the address itself.

For those of you raise in the "truth" a Question
by obiwan ini myself was raised in the "truth" til i was df'd at the age of 21. i have often wondered that if i were allowed to grow up just as every other child did in the u.s. would i have been interested in looking at the organization and taking interest?
do any of you think and wonder the same thing?

There is nothing in the Watchtower organization that would have appealed to me. I was raised in it, and left in my mid 20's.

War and Terrorism
by JH indo you think that if the us made peace with iraq and nations in the middle east, that terrorists would stop targeting us citizens around the world?
couldn't peace become contagious??

No. If we just sit back and try peace, and not raise any feathers, we as a nation are going to get our ass kicked.
We could stay out of the middle east completely, and the terrorists will still aim to kill us.

The identity of a witness.
by freedom96 init seems to me, that most witnesses are exactly that: they are a witness.
their sole existance is of being one.
then comes, parent, spouse, friend, workmate, etc.

Is there any room for anything else when active as a witness? It seems to me, that those who are active, really don't have a life. That is meant most sincerely. I look at myself, or friends, and who they are as a person first, what they do religious, or otherwise comes second, or maybe even further down the line.
It is as if that completely describes who they are. That is sad, for many times that overrides the wonderful personality that they may have had. When I remember watching others, they just seemed different. Many people that I have gotten to know over the years, I found out much later in the relationship what religion if any, that they were. It seems that with most witnesses, you seem to find out right away. That is their sole existance. Everything else comes down the line.
What do you think?

5 Yr. Old Daughter Dies But Mom Still Aux. Pioneer
by minimus ina recent experience was given at the meeting about how a faithful sister deemed her commitment to auxillary pioneer as being so important, that even after her 5 year old daughter rather suddenly died, she kept her promise to auxillary pioneer, just 2 weeks after the child's death.
the congregation generally was impressed with this sister's experience and many expressed their admiration for this sister, who has since become a regular pioneer ( for over 20 years).

It is too bad this mother had nothing else to do.
Perhaps though, she had no where else to go, no person to turn to. That, is sad. But at least she seems to have had that.
