I will be spending time with my family. We will either stay home, or go out, but no where near a Kingdom Hall.

Michael Jackson's Mother
by ExpandedMind ingood morning!
this past week, on fox, there was another documentary about mj.
after seeing some advertisements about the presentation that indicated that mjs mother would be on the program, i was interested in seeing what comments, if any, she would make about mj.

The oldest Jackson daughter, Rebbie, is still very much an active witness. That about does it for the kids. The mom is still in. The father and the other boys were never really involved except for the occasional meeting. Janet was involved for a while, and LaToya; both of course not now.

JW's - Better than others? Or ashamed?
by freedom96 ini have read quite a few posts that describe witnesses as haughty, snotty, thinking they were so much better than others because supposedly they had the truth.. i try to remember, and i don't recall seeing that as much as many of them being downright depressed, shy, and appeared to be ashamed.. myself, for one, was never one to announce to anyone that i was a witness.
certainly never held it over others, for i was always embarrassed.
the idea never crossed my mind.. there of course were always the ones that thought that they were better than others, but i always chalked them up to being that way regardless of what religion they belonged to.. what did you notice?

What did you notice? Were the majority snotty? Or maybe the opposite, quiet and ashamed?

I found this site I believe through Freeminds. I enjoy this one compared to other sites for several reasons. Always something new, interesting, and get to listen to other peoples opinions on many different subjects.

'Should You Believe in the Trinity?'
by Tower Man inhi guys and girls,
i have written a role play between 'chris' and 'john' as they discuss the brochure, 'should you believe in the trinity'.
if you've never seen the watchtower's dishonesty within this magazine, check my article out.

Another example of how the WTS takes bits and pieces of things to form what they want to believe. Deceiptive, indeed.
I enjoy seeing areas where they have done this. Good job.

How Do You Enjoy Your Life Now???
by minimus innow that you aren't making 5 meetings per week and going out in field service and doing all that personal study, what occupies your time?
does your life give you a sense of fulfillment?

Life now, is great. Just being out though, doesn't make it perfect, but it allows more time to take care of lifes issues.
I work now, have several businesses, and don't have to worry about cutting time short to make it to a meeting. I have real friends, that don't judge based on meeting attendance, have a wonderful family, and don't miss the hall at all, nor the things that went on in it.

Baptized Twice
by JH in.
just about everybody got baptized a few days after birth, unless you were born in the jw's.. so some were baptized twice, at birth and then as a jw.
now that you are out of the witnesses, does your first baptism have a new signification for you.. do you consider yourself of the religion of your first baptism.

I consider myself a christian now after leaving the WTS, and I wonder what status my baptizm holds when I did it as a JW. I almost feel I need to redo it to wash away the WTS stigma from me.
Who knows.

started reading and i can't stop !

What we need to remember is how it was when we were witnesses. You were told what to do, on just about everything. The WTS is a controlling religion, and they use fear and cultish tactics to keep you in.
As regards to her story, I attended the same hall, and I know her very well. Everything she describes is completely accurate.

What Would Jesus Do? or rather has not DONE
by Thirdson ini know i am mainly preaching to the choir with this, but there are plenty of lurkers.
i used to lurk on the old h2o when i first began having doubts and i bet there are a lot more jws today who still want to believe they are part of god's org but see the many human failings of the so-called "visible organization.".
one of, if not the only, unique teachings of jehovah's witnesses is that jesus came back (has returned, is present) and in 1919 chose the watchtower society's board of directors as his representative governing body (except they didn't know they were a governing body nor did they know they were chosen since at the time they thought jesus had been back earlier and chosen them when russell was in charge).. so let's assume that jesus did come back in 1914, what has he done?

I would say that certainly Jesus is not here directing the WTS. The WTS lacks the love that Jesus displayed while here on earth.
