  JW table at small airport

  as i was returning home yesterday, i noticed an elderly lady sitting at a card table next to the security line.

  immidiately, her "my book of bible stories" jumped out at me.

  her table was covered with printed propaganda.

  First of all, I would be interested in seeing how many people, if any, have become witnesses because of someone sitting at a table at the airport. I would guess none.

  I spend way too much time at airports, and I see them all the time. I have seen them a couple of times at a mall as well.

  What bugs me the most, is these people are sitting there, usually doing absolutely nothing except talking to each other, and yet they sit there for several hours and get to count their time. I hardly compare going door to door with sitting behind a table where no one wants to talk to you anyways. Lazy, if you ask me.

  Evil SMURFS?

  okay, what's the deal with the smurfs?

  i've heard mention here and there about some 80s rumours regarding demonized smurfs (or something) that got jws in a panic.

  i remember when i was a kid my aunt telling my mother about smurf dolls with blood on them walking around, i think.

  I was told that smurf dolls were actually demons, and that some of the stuffed smurf dolls had tried to kill some kids.

  Oh my, what some of the JW's actually believed.

  i have a family member with a special birthday coming up; but he is a jw.

  we have no connection other than internet anymore.

  i'm really wanting to wish him well on his birthday.

  I liked it when I was a witness, but felt uncomfortable if I was around other witnesses when others said I happy birthday to me. But then again, I was never happy as a witness, so I don't know how many "gung ho" witnesses would appreciate it.

  It is human to feel good when remembered though, so maybe this family member will appreciate it. If the only contact is by e-mail anyways, then they should have no issue of whether or not some other witness will "catch" them reading the birthday message.

  Do kingdom halls tend to have few windows? If so why?

  i was looking at some pics of khs and i remembered something i'd noticed while dusting my feet off outside a jw hall - very few windows.

  is that a policy or was i just at the back of the building...?

  I was always told of two reasons:

  Helped keep possible break ins from happening, but second, and more importantly, was that when the persecution really hit hard, the witnesses could hide in the hall, and no one would know, as they would not be able to see inside.

  i recently had a birthday and can't believe i'm 33 now.

  my dad is having a birthday soon and he'll be sixty.

  i just read about some more celebrity birthdays coming up and it just doesn't seem right that these people are as old as they are:.

  he says my wife's an ex witness you probably don't want to talk to her.

  then he said he thought they were deceived...why didn't he wake me up so i could see this!

  No question being molested is a horrible thing, and something that can affect many people for a long time, if not forever.

  Again, I hope that Jackson didn't do these things.

  But, in this case, it is very clear, and will become more clear as the trial goes on, that there are a lot of holes in this case, and that this family is extremely money hungry. Don't think it isn't for a second. Check out the background on this family.

  We haven't even seen anything yet with this trial.

  I too have wondered if Jackson would kill himself.

  The family accusing him this time said earlier that they don't want money. However, the first person they went to with this story was the same exact lawyer that the kid from 1993 used.

  They are absolutely going for the money. Even if he walks, they will sue him in a civil court, just wait and see.

  I sure hope Jackson did not do what he is accused of, but I don't like the accuser family one bit. There is just no question that they are after the money.

  does your boss know that you're a jw?

  the other day i was on a site....looking for a certian news clip i had seen where an older news guy get's mad at the news anchor that replaced him on air...anyway a hit came up reading old news anchor and i downloaded it.

  after it was done downloading i started playing it.

  this guy's handing out things to certain people he calls by name at a press conference.

  It is weird how we can all see death on tv or movies, but as soon as we know it is real, oh my, it is so different.

  I watched the beheading a few months ago that was all over the news and internet. I wish I didn't.
