1. Will the change in 2007 IRS Tax Rules about documenting charitable contributions result in a further drying up of the fiscal Euphrates that feeds the Tower?
(If you haven't heard, you can no longer claim cash donations on your taxes unless you have some form of documentation. Even if it's less than $250 on a given day.)
Why should it effect giving at all? All you need to do is include your name with any cash donation to get a receipt. Not everyone that donates can deduct donations because they don't make enough money to itemize deductions and the standard deduction covers their donations.
2. Do you think the average dub overstated cash contributions in the past? Did you?
I imagine there are some tax cheats among JW's just as there are in other religions.

i just watched the knocking dvd and it is a very good documentary about jw's.

two families are followed by the producer.

one is 23 year old seth that is dying from liver failure and requires a transplant.

I just watched the Knocking DVD and it is a very good documentary about JW's. Two families are followed by the producer. One is 23 year old Seth that is dying from liver failure and requires a transplant. The documentary covers the struggle to obtain a bloodless transplant. The second story is about a Jewish man that survived the Nazi death camps and was inspired by the faith of the JW's in the camps and converts to Jehovah's Witness.
The documentary covers the struggles of each family dealing with their faith and choices they made and have to make.
I will give a "B" grade and it is worth watching by anyone associated with a JW to understand their faith and their stands.

I'm just getting sick and tried of these shootings. It is time to change the laws and take control of guns. 10,000+ people are murdered with guns in the USA each year.

does anyone else find it terrible that the society is charging interest for congregations to build kingdom halls????

why the hell are people putting money in the "special" box marked kingdom hall fund??

my boyfriend who already hates the witnesses found this absolutely horrible.

If the WTBTS is charging interest on loans for creating KH buildings then that is a very good rate. If KH's had to issue bonds or borrow from banks the interest rate would be much higher. So the congregation is benefiting from this policy. many churches are deep in debt due to high interest they have to pay to build their churches.

they refuse blood transfusions on religious grounds, but they embrace the science behind bloodless surgery.

in nazi germany, they could fight for hitler or go to the concentration camps.

How do you know it is full of lies? Knocking is not from WTBTS, it is privately produced by a adult child of a JW that was never baptized.
I just orderd the DVD and I will let you know what I think of it after I view it. I try not to be so closed minded.

Wikipedia has a good write up about him. He is a infomercial preacher and says he gets great ratings by going on channels in the middle of the night. He almost died a couple of years ago due to cancer complications.
