I used to HATE conventions so much I would have panic attacks a week leading up to them. The stress would trigger my chronic fatigue syndrome and I would literally crash in bed for a week after returning. I can honestly say they are a 100% waste of time because most people go on auto pilot and zone everything out anyway............so glad I don't have to stomache them anymore. Peace, Lilly

This convention blows
by Anony Mous inseriously, half day in (already had an argument with the wife this morning about individuality in the organization in which she conceded that a lot of it is based on looks) and this is already getting on my nerves.
i'll post a rebuttal based on my annotations later in the week but one thing i got to get off my mind: saying the feminist movement (women going to work instead of staying home) and the diversity laws (allowing for homosexuality - but also religious freedom, racial discrimination etc.
) caused a lot of the problems in our world right from the stage.. there are less people here than last year - about 500 less..

Social Networks giving strength to JW protest in Canada!
by koolaid-man inthe social networks facebook , twitter, youtube, etc.
are valuable tools in creating the energy to incite apostates of the watchtower org.
to come out and protest and expose the cover-ups, the child molesters, the shunning and breaking up of families going on in the jehovah's witness religion.. the protest saturday june 25th 2011 from 7 am until 1 pm in front of the pepsi coliseum in quebec city against the watchtower is getting lots of attention on the internet.. protesters are now able to organize and and reach millions of people who have been hurt by this destructive cult.. jean-philippe cossette founder and webmaster of www.watchowerlies.com.

Mr. Snowbird and I Are Reconciling
by snowbird inwe've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.

Thanks Talesin,
That seems to be the consensus so far. Most people I speak to about tattoos say they are happy with theirs. Only a small few are not happy, usually due to poor design or placement of their tattoo. Like I said don't tattoo any part that sags over time.

DOC,
LOL, that is why you don't tattoo your boobies or any place that gravity takes a toll on when you are older.
Tattoos also fade when you are older, but by that time, I don't think I'll care. Hell, I will probably forget I ever got a tattoo.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the great advice. Mouthy, thanks for the warning. I work in healthcare so I know about hepatitis. You only get that from contaminated needles. The thing is to make sure a NEW needle pack is opened right in front of you. That is the law here in MA anyway.
Loubell, That is a GREAT idea! I am going to put a fake Lilly tattoo on my shoulder this weekend and see how I like it! Thanks for the terrific advice.
Scully, glad you are happy with your Tattoo. 42 is certainly not too old (niether is 45), my hubby is a fuddy duddy, LOL.
Today my 84 year old patient told me to get the tattoo. She always wanted one and didn't do it because it would have been a scandal in her day. She would have been considered "loose". But her housekeeper has a large one on her back and she told me she saw it when the housekeeper bent over and LOVED it! She thinks tatoos are cool.
I picked the shoulder because I MUST keep it covered for work. I wear scrubs so no one will see it unless I have an open back shirt. I decided to do it because I was very overwieght for years and 2 years ago lost 80 pounds. This is my reward for myself. Am going to do it sometime this summer, will do a temp one first though.
Great advice everyone!

MC,
You are right! 40 is the new 30. People tell me I look younger than my age, no wrinkles yet, no grey hairs. I am very active and lost a lot of wieght 2 years ago. Work out at gym, lift wieghts, hike, etc. Take vitamins daily. Its important to stay healthy and you feel better too.
blondie,
Yes here in MA you MUST be liscensed to do tatoos. There is a great shop near my home. My girlfriend and I are going together, btw she is 64! But looks and feels much younger too.
Also my daughter who is 18 wants a tat, we may do it together as a mother/daughter bonding thing, LOL.

I've always liked tatoos and disagreed with the WT's stand on them. I just turned 42 on May 14 and think its about time I get one. Nothing drastic, just a small Lilly flower on my left shoulder. And possibly if that goes well a small ankle tatoo later on.
My hubby thinks I am NUTS, too OLD he says! The thing is I don't feel 42, more like 22. Do you guys think its ok for a mid age lady to get a tatoo?
