I love it when you guys post these very informative topics...I print them and read them at my leisure!!!
FOOD FOR MY BRAIN...YUMMY!
[note: i am not promoting a religion, a church system, nor a set of beliefs.
i am merely reporting history as i find it.
the early, ante-nicene church fathers spent much time fighting heresies.

here's a question and forgive me if someone's already touched on this subject, but...
why don't jws, like the catholics & christians, have their own private schools where they can exercise their "no saluting flags, no celebrations, no holidays ( they can go to school all year long!!!!
imagine what the curriculum would be like.

Imagine the "elders" teaching class.
Imagine "bible study class".
dancing is a nice way to express feelings and let out steam.
do you like dancing, do you know any good dances?
unfortunately i am very awkward at dancing though i tried to learn some latin a couple of times because i like latin music.
haha..My husband became a professional salsa dancer right after he left the organization. His mother blames his rebellion on dancing. He performed many times and even went international and she NEVER once went to see him or cared. How supportive! Now, I'm involved in a ladies salsa group and she's already giving me "advice" on why I should reconsider. She feels that being out "there" performing is bad and I should be careful not to get involved with the wrong crowd. Haha..."she don't know me very well, do she"...(she's loosed up a bit, but those comments still come out her mouth)
I love dancing and being on stage...It lifts my spirits and makes me feel great!
growing up as a jw, we were never allowed to have holidays or birthday's etc..... never able to show my brothers affection on their special day killed me.
now every year, i sing "happy birthday" to my brothers nick and ben.
i call them on their birthday, if they pick up the phone i yell and tell them i am going to leave a voice mail message.
HAHAH...SPLURGE MY FRIENDS, SPLURGE...YOU DESERVE IT AFTER SO MANY YEARS OF JUST SITTING IN THE SIDELINES WATCHING OTHERS PLAY!
What we non-JWs do is pick and choose...don't celebrate them all, but just the big ones...BIRTHDAYS, HALLOWEEN, AND THE BIGGEST OF ALL, CHRISTMAS!
this is a very interesting site that you might want to pass on to your nieces and nephews and friends, especially if they have children.
i couldn't believe that even my house out here showed up on the map.
it is really neat how you can click on the little box on the map and see a picture of the offender and all the details about him (or her.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS SITE...VERY INTERESTING...
I CANNOT BELIEVE SO MANY LIVE RIGHT IN MY AREA!!!!
VERY SCARY, BUT NOW I KNOW AND I CAN PROTECT MY FAMILY!
explain this one to me...how the jehovah's witnesses take this scripture meaning they are the only true religion.
what does it really mean?
any religion could use this scripture...
Yes...this can be used to defend the Trinity.
It does make reference to the Holy Spirit, One God, One Son...hence, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
"worldly".
i've heard this term used a lot around jws, (mundano/a) in spanish.
i often think of it as an insult!
So in other words, "tell me who you hang with and I'll tell you who you are"
(or in Spanish, "dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres")
My husband has said this a few times and I've told him that that little statement is NOT true...it depends heavily on the person. If you are easily manipulated and naive, a bad person can easily make you change your ways...if you're headstrong and a not easily manipulated then you should be OK. In fact, you'll be able to change them into good people!!! I know this from personal experience!!! (I can see a JW youth be easily manipulated by others as was the case of my husband...b/c living such a sheltered life can lead them to not be prepared on how to deal with certain situations...thus, becoming influenced and turning "worldly"...which wouldn't have happened had they been exposed and allowed to be in these situations.)
So, that statement about the single person and the worldly roommate is FALSE!!!

WOW....
THAT'S INSANE!!!
WELL, I CAN SAFELY SAY THAT MY (JW) Mother-In-Law IS COMING TO THE REALIZATION THAT I'M NOT A "WORLDLY" PERSON...SHE'S NOTICING THAT MY FAMILY AND I HAVE MANY THINGS IN COMMON WITH THEM AND....*GASP* "OH, MY GOD" WERE CATHOLIC!! YEAH...MY MOTHER RAISED US 'WORLDLY' AND WE TURNED OUT WAY BETTER THAN HER KIDS. MY HUSBAND, HER SON, REBELLED AND LEFT THE ORG AT THE AGE OF 18. SEE, SHE TRIED TO CONTROL HIM AND RAISE HIM ALL "UNWORLDLY" AND BAM, HE DECIDED HE WANTED TO BE PART OF THE WORLD...HAHAHA...IT'S JUST FUNNY...AND TO TOP IT OFF, HE MARRIES A "WORLDLY, CATHOLIC, WOMAN"...SHE'S JUST NOT A HAPPY JW. BUT, I'M GLAD SHE'S SEEING HOW DUMB THAT WHOLE TERM IS B/C I'M NOT A BAD PERSON.

I applaud you guys for making your "New" traditions...keep them alive and live it up!!!
I'm so glad I didn't have to endure not being able to celebrate my birthday, holidays, etc. I still don't know how you guys did it. All these "traditions" are so much FUN...and they are part of what make life fun and interesting. My inactive JW husband has been celebrating his B-day for about 3 years now...Last year, I gave him a gift and a card and made a big deal about it...his friends gave him gifts too...(but, the whole time he was worried about his mom finding out)...it's just soooooo sad.
