Pedophile JC Analysis
by Amazing inthe title to this post sounds impressive, but i am not going to do to much here that is too technical, except to draw attention to the general scope of jw justice, and the shear battlefield of religious victims.
i will evaluate just the usa statistics.
many of my numbers are estimates, but i have reason to believe that they are generally representative of reality.. there are about 1,000,000 jws in the usa, in about 7,000 congregations.

Maybe Jehovah is steering things around, so that his organization takes care of this problem.
And it seems Jehover is using the loathsome apostates to do this ... how strange.

Hi Humble,
Dedalus: Gal. 6:7
Gal. 6:7: Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Well, God [Jehover, that is] is mocked, because I have in fact mocked him, not that I matter so much. More than that, he mocks himself with his own behavior; he mocks himself by being more degenerate and loathsome than the most evil human being on the face of the planet.
Whatever a man sows, he will reap? You mean, like defending pedophiles in the Organization and attacking those who want to stop the problem?

That is just plain assinine! How dare you make this kind of accusation against Jehovah and you claim to serve him! What kind of God are you accusing him of being that he would allow this kind of humilation against young children just to test you insensitive excuse for humans? One think that really stands out from your post is that you DO NOT KNOW JEHOVAH.
Actually, bjc2012, I think he knows Jehovah all too well.

Jehovah permits certain things in congregations in order to see what we're all made of.
Thanks, Humble. One more reason why Jehovah is an omnipotent pervert, a sick fucking monster who should be reviled by all his "children."
If the loathsome bastard exists, of course.

Bethel Getting Paranoid, Tightening Screws
by AlanF ini have it from solid sources that brooklyn and patterson are now recording all incoming telephone calls.. a word to the wise if you have friends there you talk to.. alanf

I'm asking because I honestly don't know -- is it legal to record telephone conversations w/out the other person's knowledge? As Waiting pointed out, companies seem to make of point of telling you when you're being recorded and why.

who would you trust
by joelbear intaking the watchtower society out of the equation.. who would you trust more based on your history with them, the witnesses you have known throughout your life or the people you have interacted with here on this board?.
i wish people nothing but peace, but i certainly hope people have another source of peace and support in their life than this group of people offers.

Whenever I read an angry post with racial slurs or just mean language, I think, okay, picture someone who desperately needs someone to trust. Are they us?
Okay -- but I'd say that most of the posts here are like the ones you're calling for. Every couple of days it seems there's an "I'm new" post, and no matter how many times it happens, people jump on board to welcome, celebrate, commiserate, what have you. There's a lot of empathizing, anecdote-swapping, joking, and, to use the Witness word, "fellowship."
But dammit, sometimes I'm pissed and I want to vent! So when some asshole troll loser like Sue comes along, I'll take the bait, even if she's baiting me! It's necessary, on some psychological level, for me to enact in a virtual forum some of the arguments I'd like to have with certain Witnesses (my father, old friends who shun me, a certain body of elders) in reality. I get to rehearse my arguments and vent, and in the process, I learn something.
Maybe it's too rough for some, but those people have the majority of the other threads on the board. And hell -- out of all the screaming that occurred on the "Asshole" thread, what happened? A series of apologies and mushy gooey hugs the like of which I have never seen on a DB before! Even Farkel promised to be "kinder and gentler"!
And that's real, man. It's honest, and I prefer it to fake geniality and cliched manners.
Hugs,

I think I can see where you're going ... but it isn't a fair question, is it? There are individuals I know who are still Witnesses that I trust more than individuals on this board ... and vice versa.
Generally, I wouldn't trust Witnesses, especially zealous (read: brainwashed) Witnesses, but like it or not, I can't avoid the fact that there is a breed of Witnesses who are basically decent, who ignore the edict to ostracize the disfellowshipped, who are barely distinguishable from members of mainstream religion. Two of my three brothers belong to this group of people -- if you could even call it a "group" -- and I trust them more than anyone ('cept Foxy, of course).
Yeah, there's been a lot of bickering and fighting on this board, if that's what you're alluding to when you say you "hope people have another source of peace and support in their life than this group of people offers." But this DB, as far as I can tell, is more diverse than that ... it defies simple characterization, just like human beings often do.

Will This REALLY Remove Foolishness?
by Englishman inwhen my parents entered the world of the witnesses, i was aged 8 years old.. dubbism did not sit easily on my young shoulders, and, try as he might, my dad struggled vainly to inculcate the new personality into his wayward, eldest son.
eventually, the strong diet of guilt and fear made inroads into my head, but, fortunately for me, it never reached my heart.
i was left with a personality that, instead of having absorbed the jw teachings had instead, become sort of striped.. the result was a boisterous child who liked nothing better to cheek those in authority.

Excellent post, Englishman.
Hit my kid? NO.
My thoughts on this run along these lines: When parents hit their children, it means they have given themselves permission to do so -- they have accept the power, the right, to hit others. When anyone grants themselves that power, no matter how noble the cause, it's only a matter of time before the power is abused. You lose your temper, and *smack* -- perhaps without meaning to, your kid is out on the floor.
My father endlessly recited the mantra "foolishness is tied up in the heart of a boy, blah blah blah," but he usually smacked me around, not out of discipline, but out of a certain frustration and laziness. He didn't have the patience or energy or whatever to talk with me. And to this day, he and I still have problems because of it.
I'm sure someone's gonna post some outrageous example of an unruly child who, well, just needs to be hit, because "that's the only way it'll learn anything." Whatever. I don't buy it.

What drives exJWs to atheism?
by ros ina significant number of former jehovah's witnesses come out of the watchtower still believing the bible and considering themselves christians.
most coming out are in a serious state of bewilderment, and they look intently and sincerely for something to fill the huge void of lost religion, lost family and friends, and lost fellowship.
they seek some viable spiritual association with others of like mind while at the same time having become very wary of any organized religion.. what is it that eventually draws so many of us (not me) to agnosticism or atheism?

Scorpion,
This part of the discussion is predicated on the assumption that if the God of the OT exists, he is an asshole, based on the text of the OT.
Farkel's comments were entered under that condition. He never said that he believed God created man, and indeed that is not the point. The point is that if this God exists, then he is an asshole.
