  How Cancer Gave Me My Life Back

  hi all, this is a bit of a realization that i had in the last two weeks:.

  why having cancer was a watershed in my life.

  before i had cancer, i was a dutiful dub, doing all that was required.

  I lost my mom to cancer and the day that she was diagnosed was like my life up to that point suddenly seemed frivolous....
  I cannot imagine the feeling of being told that I, or my child, had cancer.....

  Patio, your outlook is an inspiration...

  How I Broached Scandal w/Dubs

  i'm not saying this is the way to handle this, but is a way that might not cause too much resistance (i hope).

  my son is a strong jw, so i hadn't told him about dateline, etc., yet.

  however, this morning i finally e-mailed him an article about it from today's newsday (found on another thread).

  what do you do if you don't know their email address?

  What if you see them.....do you say something, or let them get a tape of it when they hear about it?
  I know I for one dearly love my JW family, but am rather tired of feeling like the "bad guy....."
  
  have any of you got to the point where you just feel "hey if I can find out all this info, so can they when they WANT to?"

  alicia, wow, you must've had a little "weight" on your shoulders....
  you know that is what makes it even more tragic, when people are terminally ill, or deaf, or blind, the idea of a "paradise earth" with their health, hearing, sight, even youth, restored makes them that much more vulnerable to the Witnesses. They "put off" their lives in order to "preach the good news" because Armageddon is so near, and before they know it twenty years of their lives have gone by without them really living it.
  
  Look at the JW's in Rutherford's time, a lot of people never married or had children because Rutherford claimed that time was "so short!"

  They missed out on their own lives.....
