after watching a video involving kirk cameron, i now see the error of my ways, and will be tithing 50% of my income to the church every month out of contrition.. .

Is there a 3rd option to explain the origin of life?

the creation / evolution debate has raged for 150 years with almost everyone coming down on one side or another (although creation has never offered an explanation for the origin of life).

my question is; 'is there another way of explaining the existence of life in the universe'?.

it's tangential and difficult to imagine but can we drag our perceptions away from the well established religious and evolutionary grooves to arrive at something .

Evolution is a natural process, thus by itself doesn't deal with the God issue. If one believes that God created the universe and the laws that govern it there is no conflict between evolution and creation. If on the other hand one believes that the bible is absolutely literal and God was playing with some clay, formed it into a humanoid shape, gave it CPR thereby creating man - well conflict can ensue. In essence evolution answers how but doesn't necessarily answer why.

I believe some websites/pop-ups access the cookies that were created by other sites and these cookies may contain such info.

4/20 - smoke'em if ya got'em

, high times magazine, the marijuana-logues, and the straight dope claim that in the early 1970s, a group of teenagers at san rafael high school in san rafael, california used to meet every day after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the water tower.

one piece of evidence supporting an origin of the term from the time 4:20 is the fact that the number is always said "four twenty" and not "four hundred twenty.

WTS explanation of how old the earth is

i grew up as a jw believing that each creative day was a thousand years each.

man was created on the seventh day and man's existence on earth was supposed to have been six thousand years back in 1975.. however, this wt article on reconciling science and the bible says something different that i never picked up on in my later years as a jw.

(i guess i blocked it out better than i thought)for example, when we understand that the bible uses the term "day" to represent various periods of time, we see that the account of the six creative days in genesis need not conflict with the scientific conclusion that the age of the earth is about four and a half billion years.

Dr. Humphreys is to science as the WTS is to the bible. His "science" is so bad that his publications have continously been rejected by the International Conference on Creationism (ICC - a technical conference for creation "scientists"). If one is interested in a scientific critique go here http://www.trueorigin.org/rh_connpage1.pdf . His non-cosmological arguments are even worse, he makes up "facts" and horrifically misquotes outside sources (although he could have a promising career at WTS).
