Genesis, just like the other books of the Pentateuch, was written by multiple authors during different periods of time and then edited some time after the return from exile.

How do you handle extremely rude people in public?

i was helping a man in my line and they tried to cut in front.
i politely explained that as soon as i finished with my customer, i would help them.

I think you handled the situation well and with dignity. Not only were they rude but they were idiots as well. For one thing if they were being helped instead I'm sure they wouldn't want your attention diverted. Second being a nurse doesn't automatically make you a sensitive person.

Is there a 3rd option to explain the origin of life?
by nicolaou inthe creation / evolution debate has raged for 150 years with almost everyone coming down on one side or another (although creation has never offered an explanation for the origin of life).
my question is; 'is there another way of explaining the existence of life in the universe'?.
it's tangential and difficult to imagine but can we drag our perceptions away from the well established religious and evolutionary grooves to arrive at something .

I felt the Creation book really dumbed down the idea of evolution when it said simple maths can be used to determine the chance of proteins collecting in the correct order.
Exactly, one cannot apply simple statistics to what is inherently a Quantum Mechanical process. QM greatly increases the probability of the development of a self-replicating protein.

Evolution is a natural process, thus by itself doesn't deal with the God issue. If one believes that God created the universe and the laws that govern it there is no conflict between evolution and creation. If on the other hand one believes that the bible is absolutely literal and God was playing with some clay, formed it into a humanoid shape, gave it CPR thereby creating man - well conflict can ensue. In essence evolution answers how but doesn't necessarily answer why.
