"They were standing on a landing inside the front door, she said. The homeowner had gone downstairs briefly and his son had disappeared. She thinks she was 10 at the time. She and Martin often made the door-to-door visits to attempt to gain adherents to the Jehovah's Witnesses. Her parents, who were usually nearby in a car with other church members making similar visits, were fine with it." What in God's name is this? What kind of repulsive pervert would fondle the poor girl when they're in A STRANGER'S HOUSE? Am I the only one who finds this more than a little disturbing? And why would parents let their children go in a car alone with a man just because he was a witness? You know, I might be sounding a little stupid here, but what are these people's problems? I understand they care nothing for the victims and they're only trying to cover their asses, but at what point do you say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?! It's the same pattern over and over again. It's like they all enjoy raping children! And what's next? The Complete Elder's Guide To Child Exploitation? I'm sorry, I got a bit carried away. I just think it takes an extraordinarily repugnant human being to sit by and do nothing while their "brothers" rape their children for decades at a time. It's because the old men at bethel have no children of their own and are so far divorced from reality they actually think the victim is at fault. Yes, all you lurkers at bethel headquarters huddled over your computers, I'm talking to you. We know you come to these sites. You know the real truth about this organization. Go and tell your bosses that they are guilty of crimes against humanity, and when they are soon brought to justice, neither their money nor their beloved Jehovah will protect them. And finally, save yourselves, and get out while you can. Anitar

Skyking and Jimbo: I have to say that's a little weird. Does your wife see more than this? Is she aware
of this very thread?

Hello! My mom is aJW and I have lots of questions!
by WANTMOMBACK inmy mom has been a jw for most of her life.
she was df in 1989 for having an affair.
our lives(me and my borthers and sister) became unbearable because she didn't leave my abusive father.

Welcome to the board! I'm very glad to see you.
I suppose the first thing to ask is do you live with her? That often creates a more stong sense of urgency. Can she hold an intelligent conversation? How long is her attention span? Does she often forget what she's doing and develop a glassy stare?
I'm sorry to sound like twenty questions. My mom is a JW too and we live together. If I can do anything to help, don't hesitate to send me a message!

A Message To All The Lurkers
by Anitar inin recent weeks, i have seen several posters that some call the jw "lurkers," meaning the witnesses who read the articles of this site, and are perhaps questioning what the watchtower has been teaching them, yet are still very defensive of the watchtower's actions.
as a result, i have seen and participated in several heated debates.
it seems the main criticism of us is that we focus too much on the "negative," that we dig up the past too much, and worst of all, that we have nothing to really complain about, other than the personal vendettas some of us have against the watchtower.

LuckyNun: what happened to you? How could the congregation just stand by and do nothing?

I'm terribly sorry, my computer has some sort of virus and it won't let me post my text!
The Jehovah's Witnesses like to say they are "neutral," but for my mom that is just a nice word for arrogant. George Washington once said he was impartial regarding government and foreign affairs, but there is a big difference between neutrality and impartiality. Where in the bible does it say for a christian to be neutral? For a logical person, it is no more possible to be neutral than to live in a "paradise earth."
This is just another example of the double standard of the watchtower. They won't vote, but they have no problem accepting government money. They do absolutely nothing to help the community through charity, yet they claim to be a non-profit organization to avoid paying taxes. They lie in court, yet they have no problem taking their cases of "religious freedom" to the supreme court. They are the first to complain about being denied their constitutional rights, yet they deny the freedom of speech and thought in their own congregation.
The democratic system can work if people care enough. For example, just last night, The Democratic challenger for Representative in my area beat the incumbent Republican by three thousand votes. Yet the Republican population is 18 thousand more than the Democrats in the district!
To all the JW's who arrogantly profess to be "no part of the world," I say go right ahead. But just remember this:
Those who refuse to partipicate in their government end up being governed by their inferiors.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted. Thank you all for being so supportive. Skally, Bernadette, Michael Gabriel, Moshe, you all validated my point, and I'm glad I said it right. To the new people, welcome and I'm so very happy you're here! Please keep posting and tell us your ideas. There's nothing wrong with being a lurker, that's how I started. My only goal is to help and be helped by as many people as possible!
Take care everyone!
