History Channel on Cults...
by james_woods indid anybody else get to watch that two-hour presentation last night on history channel on dangerous cults?
an excellent program, imho.. i thought it was a real eye-opener on several fronts.. first, they made the particular point of the general similarity of many cults: commonality included such things as the disturbed self-appointed messianic visionary founder (i.e.
jim jones, applegate, charlie manson, david koresh, the pseudo-mormon polygamy guy, and such), the die-hard belief in an apocylptic prophecy, the manipulation of the followers by thought control (brainwashing) techniques, sexual control or manipulation of the followers, monetary exploitation of the followers, the desire to make the followers look ridiculous to normal persons, the tendency to create communes and to isolate the followers from society, the belief that certain of the cult activities are in fact in fulfillment of eschatological prophecy and are thus "helping" to bring about the collapse of society, .

Wow! Line by line from the WT! It's interesting to see how she struggles with loving you truely and trying to keep hold of whatever "Truth" she thinks she has. Poor woman, but good for you for sticking to your guns!

Women are in subjection to their husbands and to the Elders!!!!!
by Gill inthe february 15th watchtower 2007, is spectacularly nauseating!!!
at least i found it so.. i would welcome the opinion of all on the board to this sentiment on page 19, paragraph 8 and9:.
'although subjection can be challenging, women can welcome it as honorable, even as did jesus.

I've seen countless men who seem to posess the mindset of "I need a woman to be happy". The truth is you don't NEED a woman to be truly happy, just like you didn't need the WTS to be truly happy.
Actually, my BF doesn't need me to be happy either. i think that confidence was something that drew me to him. It's also flattering to know that he is chosing to be with me and not desparatly pawing for my attention.

Wendy-Warden. I was married to a beautiful women who had intelligence for 44 years. She passed away this spring.
Gosh, now I feel like the devil herself. I am most sincerely sorry for what I said. Here I take a chance and try to be saucy and all I am is rude. Sorry, Golf, I had no idea.
