  Its like this article is saying to look forward to your death as that's all the future holds, and your eventual resurrection. How do you raise children with that concept?

  Did Jesus teach everyone that life is futile and to look forward to relief in death as it seems Job did?

  An elderly JW once told me yrs ago (and now I believe it) that the WA form of meditation is self hypnosis. At the kingdom halls there is the constant buzzing of the microphones and equipment, the speaker droning on, the question and answer period where your eyes move back and forth at a constant pace.

  At home you are told to meditate on the WA literature, again, staring at something or closing your eyes and visualizing statements in the WA. All are self hypnosis techniques.

  So if you are facing illness and death, meditating on the resurrection will get you back under the society's control five times per week. That's why no Sunday mtg and that's it. Its five meetings per week to constantly enforce the WA doctrine and enforce the hypnosis.

  This study I think is proof of how deceitful and cruel the GB is. JWs have died due to WA policies, not because of what Jesus taught in the scriptures.

  I thought it odd the WA article says a "sincere" person raising questions. I wonder what it meant by that. How are we to determine if questions are sincere? And I love the answer the WA gives, push those Tracts handed out at the convention!! NO mention of showing a "sincere" person from the BIBLE the answer to his questions.

  I like the fact priests and clergy say they actually dont know an answer to a question. The WA also does NOT know why god has allowed suffering for centuries. Its the time factor I think is the issue. The sovereign of the universe can put an end to anything at anytime. Yet the GB knows all the answers, they are superior to god. They know god has allowed suffering for centuries and we just have to accept it from a loving god.

  I didn't notice the GB making any public speeches after 911 to educate the clueless world and expound on their wisdom?? They hide behind brick buildings and locks at the WA headquarters in Brooklyn.

  Of course this article infuriated me because my parents took advantage of the "society" saying no to education in the 1980's. My parents were lazy, they didn't want the responsibility for training us kids, paying for our education, so this cult was perfect for them. I hope some JW kids are reading this. I am still working paycheck to paycheck, struggling, while I see other JW families in mansions driving expensive cars.

  Why is there no article for parents? Are they telling parents to sell their mansions as the end is near and devote their final days to walking door to door with their kids that have no future?

  College degrees are now needed to just get entry level positions. What's with the statement that a person is seeking material things by getting an education??? Is food and shelter materialism??

  Something I noticed in the famous "1975" Watchtower article...

  i decided to read for myself the articles my father and mother were reading during this interesting time in witness history.

  i stumbled upon the following paragraph that scared the bejeezus out of me: .

  "one thing is absolutely certain, bible chronology reinforced with fulfilled bible prophecy shows that six thousand years of mans existence will soon be up, yes, within this generation!

  My parents were baptized in 1973 ready to walk into the new system in 1975. I heard since that the rank and file were simply being tested. If you left the truth based on this LIE, you failed the test.

  Well I always thought then lets test the Brooklyn bethelites and annointed. Hey, how about you have to WORK for a living? How much time will they spend in the ministry if they have to wash windows, do laundry, cook their own food?

  Hey, how about testing the pioneers? How about telling then counting hours was not bible based after all? All your hours in field service meant nothing to your everlasting life and working out your own salvation? We will test your faith by not counting anymore hours that you walk door to door. How many would still do it??

  How about stop testing us poor people out here, earning a living, depending upon the scholars at bethel to guide our lives, we look to them for guidance and they failed miserably.

  something has been bugging me for ages about the non-participation of r&f jws in the memorial meal (sounds like a mcdonalds deal) !.

  i've just worked out what it is.... only the "anointed" can partake of the emblems.. but at the original meal, as instituted by jesus, no one was anointed.

  the anointing came at pentecost, after he had died !.

  I have a problem with any person today considered annointed by the JWs. Jesus personally annointed his apostles. There was physical evidence at pentecost that the people in attendance were annointed. Today, Catholic priests will annoint you each Sunday by letting each person in attendance partake of that unleavened bread (communion?) but it is your choice to participate.

  Today, JW elders will flatly tell you that you are not annointed, that you are not the right age, haven't been tested, that the 80 yr old elder beside you would be chosen over you, you will be shunned or disfellowshipped.

  So the whole modern idea among JWs of the annointing is wrong, a farce. I knew one older woman that always claimed to be annointed. The elders badgered and harassed her to a point where her nerves broke down, she had to be hospitalized. The only way the elders and their wives would let her attend meetings again was if she admitted that she was NOT annointed, and she had to personally tell individuals in the kingdom hall that she was "no longer annointed" and she never took the emblems again at the memorial.

  The JWs have so much to apologize for and to fix that I think it is a hopeless religion that has gone money mad with power and real estate holdings.The whole atmosphere in a KH is evil, intense, hateful, and you had better conform and become a robot if you want anyone to talk to you or acknowledge your existence.

  That opening paragraph is a joke. On a road trip, YES, you might turn around, you might abandon your car (depends on the car if it can be repaired, so forth) you might forget your car get a rental along the way!!

  However, your WIFE is not a CAR, your MARRIAGE is not a CAR!

  What is the end goal in a marriage if marriage is simply a journey?? A journey to where??

  At the outset the reader is forced in his or her mind to apply an example that has nothing to do with marriage.

  No wonder I am insane from years and years of reading this junk!! As Blondie said in another thread, the Emperor has no clothes! The WA knows nothing about human life and existence, and I wish more JWs could wake up to this and come out of their fog.

  I always thought they couldn't actually say it from the platform or in the WA is that the vast rank and file are the slaves of the GB.

  Does a slave need a college degree? Werent slaves before the civil war kept as laborers, like livestock? Does the horse pulling the plow need to be trained as a racehorse? The average JW out there, working for wages, trying to raise a family, are the livestock of the organization.

  If they had any honesty, they were plainly tell us we are laborers in the vast organization. I personally know of a woman that had a personal invitation to work for the bethelites as a dentist. Did they tell her she didn't need a secular degree? No. she was expertly trained and is now working at bethel, married to a bethelite, living very happily, traveling all across the nation on money donated by congregations so her husband can give talks throughout the US and she can lay by the poolside in Hawaii.

  I would like simple honesty from the GB. Plus, they make policies that us uneducated people cannot possible defend using the bible. So guess what, use GB literature they have conjured up to defend their own personal agendas!

  The Watchtower Society's "Spiritual Paradise"

  there are 729 references to the "spiritual paradise" on the 2006 watchtower library on cd.. .

  when you were one of jehovah's witness what was it like to live in this "spiritual paradise"?.

  we would enjoy hearing about your daily walk with god the faithful slave (genesis 5:22,24; genesis 6:9) and how refreshed you felt at the end of each glorious day in paradise..

  I was at a disadvantage because I had no choice. I was raised in the truth and the spiritual paradise. When you grow up and actually break out of the cult you realize they are selfish people, only counting time door to door to save themselves. I never understood if they cared so much about their neighbor, why they had to count time and mags and brag in the KH how spiritual they are because of their magazine distribution? They also love to trot off to mtgs all week showing up their neighbor as if they are something special. If you actually go to a meeting it is mindless, no substance, and normally a sales mtg on how to convince outsiders to join up. The spiritual paradise is fake.

  Ask any one of the hypnotized JWs to face reality, face today, face that they are slaving for a billion dollar corporation, and see what answers you get. They either panic and run calling you apostate, or they have a mental breakdown and have to be hospitalized.
