Hey blondie? Thanks.
Is it just me, or is this "lesson" much more strongly worded than similar "get to work" "lessons" have been in the past? Does this betray a growing desperation on their part as regards the falling off of field service and donations?
And are they implicitly or explicitly saying that they are a modern-day Haggai, calling the Jews back to action?
And is it okay to gloat?

I should be clear: I do not doubt the core premise of the essay, that the Watchtower has no real interest in saving lives or conducting an effective ministry. That much should be obvious to anyone simply from the methods and results.
The only thing I was taking issue with was the stated motivation, amassing fortune, which I continue to disagree with. -

Overheard at the Book Study
by under_believer inhere are a few comments that i overheard at this week's book study (of the third chapter of the bible teach book), and the thoughts i had after hearing them: .
conductor: "as food shortages become more and more common as the time of the end advances, they will make excellent field service points since they were predicted by the bible.
me: great.

I just imagine this snake with cow's teeth, slithering around and eating straw. Munch munch munch.... and all lovingly caressing some cloth diaper-clad wee baby on the face, while the baby giggles.

Consider your Position
by KW13 in.
i found that before i heard of 607, un e.t.c it was how i was treated as young witness by people who were supposed to be christians.. backstabbing, gossip, lies and more.. .
once i found out about the un, 607 and found this site, it confirmed i'd made the right decision.. what was the thing that made you consider your position?

Mmmmm... considering... Oh, wait a minute. That's not what you meant? Never mind.
Carry on, then. -

Who do you want to meet?
by greendawn inwho would you most like to meet and what would you tell them?
count even dead people by supposing that they are still alive.
i would like to meet the great swiss psychologist gustav jung to ask him questions about symbolism and the unconscious mind.

But OpenFireGlass... Isn't Snizzle off the shizzle these days? Wouldn't that make visiting you a real falling-off-the-wazizzle risk?

Unlimited power over mankind
by greendawn inwhat would you do if given unlimited power over the earth, over the world?
i would promote spiritual culture and give the world three generations to come to terms with it, by teaching it to the young children.
thereafter anyone not accepting it i would sterilise so that s/he would have no inheritors.

Ummm... greendawn, you just went on my whacko list... sorry about that man, but eugenics? That way lies madness. Your avatar is more appropriate than you intend, I suspect.
John Lennon summed up what I would do when he wrote "Imagine." -

Ugh this is way too close to a favorite JW topic of discussion that I plan to cover later in the "Things JW's Say" series. Your average JW would all be like "Moses, I want to meet Moses!"

Every once in a while you hear about these "unexplained by science, must be God" things. Usually they end up being explained by science, eventually. And in this case it's just a little pep-rally type of story anyways. Would just discourage anybody who's not ignorant, since they know it's BS.
