It seems like a surprising reaction from them if all that happened was a thread was deleted...

The Next Top Apostate!
by Swan inmouthy is one of the coolest people on this board.
she has also been out of the jws far longer than most of us.. but with mouthy leaving, who will be our next top apostate?
duties: keep the seat warm until mouthy comes back.

Steel cojones. That man is the top apostate unless someone can prove to me otherwise. I mean, Ray Franz is of course THE top apostate, but Ray doesn't have these new-fangled internets as far as I know.

FASCINATING "ARGUMENT" on Raymond Franz
by Terry in--buckaroo 14:56, 10 november 2005 (utc) your response to the original post was that this doesn't read like "a fair and unbiased representation of the facts.
do you have a better, more accurate version of the story?
"tommstein 09:04, 14 november 2005 (utc) i don't need to have a, "more accurate version of the story," to tell when an individual's opinion is being presented as fact.

Jesus, dude, can you just summarize it for me? That's like a 3.5" floppy's worth of text.

None of the above, but if I have to pick, I'll always pick the one with the boobies.

I almost bought a flag......
by AK - Jeff inthe fog must be lifted now for me after two and a half years out of the borg.. today whilst browsing for some lawn decor, i was drawn to the american flag display in the store.
i looked it over good - all the flag pole styles, sizes, quality.
i walked away without buying one, only due to trying to keep wifey out of the hot seat, as she still has relatives in - i don't any longer.

I'm still working this out, myself. I tend to fall on the humanistic side of things, where the human race is the only club that's worth belonging to. On the other hand, democracy and freedom is clearly the best course, and the US has been primarily responsible for championing (not inventing, not propogating, but championing) those values in the last 250 years or so. You gotta hand it to them for that.
I wouldn't die for my country, but I might die for those values. -

It appears that they are boycotting JWD.
It's really fine... as people have pointed out, JWD serves a specific market. It's possible that they're no longer participants in that market. Really that is a matter to celebrate rather than bemoan. They've "graduated." -

Reading the Bible Made Me Leave "The Truth" & Christianity
by Seeker4 ini was looking up a couple of verses the other day in my nwt reference bible the one with larger print, footnotes, cross references, etc.
in my day i was quite a diligent student - the bible is filled with my notes and comments, and i'd already worn out another one earlier.
one of the things that i found surprising as i was reading my notes, was how often they were pointing out inconsistencies, contradictions and obvious lies in the biblical text.

Was your original post an admission that religion produces evil, or not? Subsequent statements by you seem to indicate the contrary.
I cannot prove that religion produces evil any more than you can prove that irreligion does. I think I can say that much evil has been done in the name of religion, which is clearly a different thing.
I'd rather not sit here and intellectually dry-hump with you--neither of us can prove our positions, therefore we'll have to rely on faith. Ironic, that (for me, anyways). -

Michael jackson is STILL a jw.. just on tv.
by candidlynuts inso i'm sitting here online halfway listening to nancy graces show on headline news.. someone calls in and asks if michael jackson was muslim now.
the jackson attorney says no, he was raised a jehovahs witness, he is a jehovah's witness and will probably be one all his life.
(wonder if he's been quietly reinstated?).

Yes, it does. But so does atheism. Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Kruschev, Castro, Ortega, and the list can go on and on.
Waitaminute, though... it's not the same thing. Did their atheism PRODUCE them? No. They are evil people who happened to be atheists. On the other hand, religion directly PRODUCES many evil people who would not have been evil if they had not been religious.
