Mosquitoes
by averyniceguy ini was wondering if there is a mosquitoes expert here that can answer my question.
i have tried to find the answer thru the search engine, but could not find the answer so my question is does white light or red light after dark attract or repel mosquitoes?
thank you in advance for answering my question!

I'm not too sure about the white light or red light, but I've read somewhere that if your horny, mosquitos will eat you up baby!

Another poll: raised in or came in?
by under_believer insomeone asked a question in the "what generation are you" thread:.
were you "raised in the truth," or did you "come into the truth?".
i was raised..

I like to say born in and raised "around" the "religion" Never would I ever associate the word "truth" with anything the WBTS is, was or will ever be!

I grew up around the religion, never was dunked in the "toilet of wasted dreams" But if I would of become a JW I would of been second generation.

The Point of this Site?
by Samael inforgive me if i sound rude or this question has been answered elsewhere, as i am a neophyte and discovered your site through google in my religious studies.
from reading the various posts it seems that this site serves nothing more than an iconoclastic purpose.
was your experience as jw's so traumatic that now you can but put forth such effort to daemonize the religion?

Balsams earlier post on the meaning of the word "neophyte" hit the nail right on the head, it stated in part: "Neophyte (neophytoi, the newly planted) Samael obviously was 'planted' here to ask this question by none other than the "society". Who else would come into a JW discussion forum and say things like: "forgive me if I sound rude but", "daemonize the religion" and then ends by saying that the posters here are acting like "petulant children" This Samael is definitely a WTBS 'plant'.

I'm a registered voter now
by TweetieBird inhubby and i were at trader joe's the other day and a guy asked us to sign his petition.
after we signed he asked if we were registered voters.
we said no and he asked if we'd like to be.

Congratulations TweetieBird! Registering to vote is one act that took me quite a while to do. I have always been interested in politics, even while growing up around the JW religion I would always,(of course secretly) watch the National and Local voting results. To this day I still haven't told anyone (other than wife) of my actions. I wonder how my JW family will feel when they see my name in the paper when I decide to run for one of the seats on the City Council! lol... have a great day!

Would you shame someone for going back to the Witnesses?
by free2beme ini was thinking about this, as i have a former witness friend who is showing signs of wanting to go back, even though they have expressed over the years a lot of frustration and lack of belief for the faith.
as much as i find their decision to be a mistake, i do understand why.
after all, unlike myself and family, i have never been shunned by the few family members left in and i moved on over the last decade to build new friendships and hobbies.

I know a person who has been disfellowshipped 2 times, and just re-instated for the 2nd time. I can't figure this dude out. I mean why would you want to keep going back to the vomit as the scripture says. Side note: I work with this guy, and each time he's been DF'd he's very friendly, helpful, talkative. But, like this last time he was re-instated, he's become introverted, won't hardly talk to anyone, including me, total change of personality. He was a better person "out" of the religion. So yes I would say that he shamed himself by going back, especially 2 times.
