Being a man who has lived with two women(wife, daughter) for the past 14 years I usually stay away from topics that have the words "period".... "cycle"...."time of month".....lol, but I just had to say I wish you, family, and your newborn the best of health!

What scriptures will you NEVER hear a Witness use?
by gordon d inwhat scripture will probably never be read in the kh or quoted in the watchtower?

In the matter of disfellowshipping you will never hear this: John 16:2,3...............2 Men(judicial commitee)will expel(disfellowship)YOU from the synagogue(kingdom hall). In fact, the hour is coming when everyone(JW)that kills(shuns)YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to GOD. 3 But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the father or me. (words in parenthesis mine)

Anyone ever watch David Blaine?
by AK - Jeff inthe magician?
he is unbelievable - i don't see how it can be smoke and mirrors out on the street.
some of it seems impossible unless it is staged.

Yes David Blaine and Criss Angel are the two great illusionists of our day, and thats just what they are, illusionists.

Chicago Cops - Disturbing Experience
by looking_glass ini need to get this off my chest because it is bothering me to the point i am distracted.
i have a very disturbing experience with the chicago police department.. i had just gotten out of a car that was dropping me off at the cta.
i was about to get out when a cop car w/ 2 cpd cops pulled up behind us and flashed their lights.

Like with any police departments internal investigations unit or complaint unit, they will find that the cops acted accordingly and therefore no action is needed. Sad but true.

I heard a new one today and going by their record, could be true......"The Bush administration had someone set the wildfires in California to divert attention away from the elections, the corruption and how bad they are doing in the polls".....Suck on that one for a while, lol.

How can twelve years olds get baptized? it is crazy!
by happehanna inmy daughter's step child is getting baptized at the ripe old age of 12.. my sil is angry and i feel he should try and stop it through the courts, but they feel that would make his ex more determined for baptism to go ahead.. this child has no idea of the mistake they are making .
would she get married at 12?.
it is so sad and irresponsible for a child to take this step.. .

In my big family, my oldest JW sisters two children baptized at the ripe old age of 14 and 15, now three years later both DF'd.....My other two sisters who were both baptized at early ages, one at 12 and the other 14 who are now mothers, are both DF'd.....One of my brothers who is DF'd also has two children who were baptized at ages 13 and 14, both DF'd. The rest are just hangin in by a thread.

Who all has been offered the new tract?
by Nosferatu inwow, i didn't think jws went out during the day anymore.
it's probably even worse than trying to find people at home on a saturday morning!.
they knocked on our door, and my wife answered.

I had written in an earlier post that my wife received the tract about 3 weeks earlier than it was to be distributed. My brother, who thinks he is a JW told her not to tell anyone who gave it to her, including me. She told me he was acting like he was in some top-secret program or something, lol. Anyway after perusing its contents, it turned out to nothing more than top-secret bullshit! Nothing new. Same old tired speculation that the JW's have neen putting out for years.

The summer convention used to be the "center" of our vacation, every year in the same city, the same old amusement park, the same old restaurants, the same old mini golf and of course the same old boring message from the podium. When I grew up and out of the religion, I made sure my wife and kids were treated to wonderful vacations. No suits and ties, no polished black shoes, no dresses for the girls, just us in our shorts and flip-flops, kids playing on the beach, and my wife and I sipping margaritas under a palm tree.

Actually, in a study done recently, I believe Finland was crowned as the happiest country on earth......but then again who can believe those stupid researchers. If N.Korea wants the crown let em have it, they have nothing else. lol
