Male Cannabis plant identified as Tree of knowledge of good and bad
by Ronald inprobably the main and most agreeable effect of the ingestion of cannabis is it enables the mind to pursue thoughts along a theme.
the immagination is released from its circular bondage to pursue one thought after another along a stout central theme and recognizing related ideas going off along the way just like branches along a limb.
this enhancement of mental capacity is very satisfying and can be enthrawling.

January 14, 2007; the most bizarre comments I have ever heard at a Hall
by MinisterAmos inmost of you have already scoped out the wt lesson for yesterday that blondie provided, but i'm going to add to it a bit and share the audience comments for the meeting.. i'm also going to share some direct-from-the-gb "new-light" that was revealed by the speaker in his discussion.....ready?.
so the wife and i are on vacation yesterday and visit a congregation located in western fl or east al; floribama as the natives call it.. the speaker began by telling us that the "happy god" isn't really happy because of the state of the world.
i forgot to ask him where that fact is found in the bible.

Believer, Agnostic or Atheist?
by lfcviking ini am curious, what amount people on this board from their experiences of being a baptised & active jw and their subsequent exit from the jw org (for whatever reason or reasons) are now either agnostic, atheist or do some actually still believe in god?.
your honest answers please.. lfcv.

I grew up around the religion and was never baptized(got out before taking "the dip" with all the other dips) lol...........I consider myself agnostic(a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god.

Do you still call it "the truth"?
by True North indo you find youself still calling it "the truth" even though you are an ex-jw?
for instance, in one posting i just read, the poster wrote "when i was in the truth..." .
not a big deal, perhaps, but really not such a good thing either as it's a habitual holdover from the program of mental conditioning we were subject to.

Although it took a while to stop referring to it as "the truth, I finally stopped when I became "de-brainwashed". I now refer to it as "the religion". My JW mom and siblings cringe when I call it that, then you can see the sadness in their eyes when they silently reason in their minds thats all it is, just a religion.

Being materialistic, as a disfellowshipping reason.
by free2beme inmy sister and i, are my mothers only two children.
we were both witnesses at one point, i left ten year ago and my sister left in 2005. my mother remains as the only witness left in my immediate family.
while my sister and i make good money, with our careers and duel income in marriage, we don't talk about it much.

I also knew of several situations where rich, materialistic JW's would donate substantial amounts in the box monthly which in turn would make the elders turn a blind eye on them and their childrens offenses. Most "common" poorer JW's and their children would be DF'd or reproved for some of the things that the rich wouldn't even be counseled on. So in my observation making tons of $$$$ isn't a sin to the "society" UNLESS you're NOT giving them any.

Most controversial?
by joe_black ini know that most of what the wbts says and does is viewed by many of us as hogwash, but what do you think was the most controversial thing that happened or was said by the watchtower in 2006?...............i mean something so obviously off the wall or sinister that it would make even the most hardcore jw pause and say, "hey, what the f*ck?!!
"

Regarding the "new and improved?" blood issue, I asked my (hardcore, society can't be wrong about anything)JW mother what she thought about it. Her reply was "they didn't change anything". I told her she needed to read her WT's thoroughly. She still didn't believe that they had changed anything(don't know if she ever actually read that issue). I asked her hypothetically "what if they began to tell you that you could now receive a blood transfusion without being marked or DF'd?" Her reply was "then and only then would I start doubting that it was the "truth". It got me to thinking that many JW's base their whole faith on this blood doctrine rather on the love of Christ......and btw Happy New Year to Everyone!

What I Learned at the at the 2 Day Assembly...
by becca1 in1- "jehovah does not want us to be rich".
other religions teach that god helps us to become prosperous.
jehovah does not do that.

It didn't take going to college for me to realize this religion was a big lie.

My wife who "studied" back in the late 90's with someone who knew the owner of the tour company. She has received brochures periodically from their company offering various packages. I actually know that it is owned by a P.O. of a congregation in the area where the witness that studied with my wife used to live. It has also come to my attention that there are also very rich JW financial backers whom he owes alot of money to. Regarding the brochure, I wonder if all JW's names and even their "studies" are on their mailing list?
