No. Probably not one. After recently reading The Pagan Christ by Tom Harpur I don't believe anything in the "bible" is historical and was never meant to be. It's all symbolism, nothing is literal. It's all Egyptian in origin and is powerfully transcedent. It was never meant to be taken literally so there is nothing the WTS ever wrote of what did or will happen that has any validity to it at all. The WTS is beyond a waste of time, it kills people. It is evil. If a god has the power to fix the wrongs but doesn't then that god is evil too.

John Chapter Six:
52 Therefore the Jews began contending with one another, saying: “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 Accordingly Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to YOU , Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, he also that feeds on me, even that one will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when YOUR forefathers ate and yet died. He that feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 These things he said as he was teaching in public assembly at Ca·per´na·um.

Hey Katie & Craig, how's things? There ought to be an apostofest sometime, yes? Glen
Hi candidlynuts,
Thanks for the NWT cut and paste. The way I see it that in the verses around John 6:53 when they say YOU, that means in the plural, and later it's "he", presumably for the individual.
How does the WTS dodge these verses - why isn't everyone Partaking at the Memorial?
There should be a campaign! The whole myth-ritual is stupid, surely it must insult Jesus/Joshua/Tutankhamun to have all these millions and millions of guests at His Evening Meal voluntarily turning away from Life.

Dear Phil, I felt exactly the same when I read John 6:53 - how come I missed that one!! I can't find my NWT, so I don't know if there's a nuance in that translation that implies anything other than each and every individual should partake of the bread and wine to have life. I took Randy Watters advice and read the Bible without my WTS glasses on some time back. It's totally different! Glen

I was very surprised when I opened my mouth to speak. I was annoyed and sounded so. I think I was annoyed that it took 6 years and two new elders to have The Friends call. But I think it was because I disagree so much with what I did, and they do - like an ex-smoker I was fuming inside. I have had occasional social contact with JWs and that hasn't bothered me at all. But this felt Organizational and I immediately reacted.
I got the invite to the KH and The Memorial. I said that they wouldn't want me there as I would Partake (I just wanted to mess with their heads). And then I said they should read John 6:53, thanked them for coming, and shut the door.
Weird, I didn't think I still was postJW wacky. I don't believe that much of the orthodox christ-myth as it is. Why did I lash out where I thought it would hurt ... with Faux Apostasy!

John 6: 53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

Oh.
5. I think The Deity would be right pissed off to have his Divine Name mispronounced over and over again, despite a better rendition with Yahweh. The WTS kept it going, it was their trademark, they had to. Would you want your grandkids calling you by your first name, a bit rude I'd say.

Hallo Min... well, since you asked, and since it is something I have been spending half my life thinking about ... this is where I am at on my spiritual detox program.
"I'm Glen, and I haven't had a kingdom hall meeting in 7 years".
Seriously, my view hovers among the following:
1. Jahve the Volcano God, Midianite, amalgamation of monotheistic gods, successfully recapped from the work of Akhenaten/Moses... Aten/Adonai. Stuff like that. It just happened. We created God.
2. He doesn't exist. No gods. Sorry. We are on our own.
3. He's a spiteful, hateful, lesser/demiurge god, and the bible is full of his nastiness and i want nothing to do with that, no sirree. God the father, well ... along with the holy spirit, maybe there's something there, huh?
4. I can't believe I made myself a wreck trying to please an archetype of the universal imagination. What a silly bugger I was!

One less thing I could get df'd for!
by Deleted inwell, if exit polls are grounds to call the presidency just hours into the vote count then i can conclude that in only 3 days of quitting the tobacco habit that this it!.
7 years ago when i left the borg i started smoking cigars, as it went well with scotch, and was deliciously a naughty thing to do after 18 years in the cult(ure).
i started to inhale, as i am prone to do, and then concluded i would be better off with cigarettes.

Jill, Elyse, Dan and I have all quit, with the help of nicotine lozenges. I feel so much better already, and I still get the nicotine hit I seem to crave!
In 7 years of us smoking at least a carton of cigarettes a week I estimate we spent about $10,000 in fags over that period!
So with quitting drinking, I drank more when in the collective than out, I have just two disfellowshippable sins to go, and neither I plan to quit (MJ and Aposatsy).
When I redid my real age at myrealage.com, I went from a real age of 65 to 55, and in reality I am 51, so that's much better.
It's a good year, so far.
Happy New Year y'all
