Or go see "The Omen" remake. End of the world? But...the great tribulation? and who's the new king of the north? we don't know yet! it can't be the end! Shockingly, it probably won't be.

Friday District Convention notes: Control, control, control
by truthseeker inwell, one third of the convention is over, i had no choice but to attend due to my current situation.. the talks were worse than last year, and as usual if you have seen the program you will not find jesus in any of the talk titles - in fact, the only time jesus is mentioned is during a prayer or in connection with the ministry.. when you become aware of how sidelined jesus is, you can't help but notice that jehovah's witnesses are a modern version of the old testament religion - it's all about control, be attentive, obey the "faithful and discreet slave" etc etc, in stark contrast to belief and salvation through jesus.. only the talks with midly interesting material or that had ridiculous phrases used by the speaker are shown here.. friday.
9:50 be attentive to jehovah's promises of deliverance .
would you believe that this 20 minute talk was solely about being attentive to the program?

I went last weekend, in Florida, all 3 days. Mainly because I wanted to parade around and say hello to all these people who I hadn't seen in a LONG time since I moved to Georgia, and then have them hear at the Wednesday meeting the following week that I have been DF'ed. It was a very usualy convention...the same info passed in different words. BORING. The drama needs to have some real acting...some guns...something...I was moved to spending most of my time walking outside the building and talking. And going out to dinner with the brothers, as if I was in some sort of good standing. HAHA.
again!. I hated that. -

Phone witnessing is the new thing in the JW organization. When sisters do a #3 talk now, they usually have to pretend it's a telephone call. Eventually they're going to do away with door to door work when the JW's become persecuted. Feel confident that you'll have them knocking at your door for the rest of your life.

how many of you have tattoos, and if so what are they?

It's from a cd cover from one of my favorite artists (Sublime- 40oz to Freedom)
Here's a bigger shot so you can see the detail. It's going on my left arm. It's basically for all those who have been stung in life by enjoying debauchery; the only way to heal is to go back to it. I for one, will not, and the tattoo will be my reminder. -

A JW MISCONCEPTION:
by whyizit inthat is why there is a baptist church here, and a lutheran church there....etc..... i belong to a community church that is non-denominational, and this belief is just not true.
many of the area churches, including our's, participate with and encourage each other.
we do not hate each other at all.

Anyone ever sit in the accounting room during the convention? It's a group of elders, laid back, not paying attention to the Assembly, talking about sports, drinking coffee, and half assed counting THOUSANDS of dollars that are brought in to them constantly. Nothing proffessional about it, and nothing to stop any of these guys from 'skimming off the top' if they wanted to. I dunno, if you do the math, the WTS gets a LOT of money; the report is that in 2005 they spent about $140 million on taking care of CO's. I was shocked. $140 million? They've got some MAJOR bucks. I lived in Palm Beach when the WTS got a hold of the local convention center and bought it for about $12 million. It was a big piece of land, and there was a baseball stadium on it. The WTS tore down the stadium, cleared the area, kept the convention center and some of the land to make a parking lot for the new Assembly hall to be built, and sold just a PIECE of the cleared land to home depot for $40+ million!! They made a profit lol. I didn't think they could do that. The West Palm Beach Christian Convention Center is perhaps the biggest and nicest of them all to date that is 100% under WTS ownership.

Thanks for the support guys ;-)
In February I completed my Bachelor's Degree (in a year and a half) in Finance. I've since gotten hired by Edward Jones and will be starting a new branch in my area for them in the coming months. I'm clean as can be (no drugs, no tobacco, no alcohol). I'm not going to say I'll never drink again, I just won't be getting foolishly drunk anymore. As far as she goes-- I'm sure this will be a very maturing experience for her, and hopefully she'll straighten out and be a good mother. There's going to be major problems as far as I'm concerned; I don't want the child raised in JW organization; and unless she gets out of her parents' grip, she won't agree to that. I'll just allow time to pass, and continue on with my life. Once the baby is born, I'll legally have my rights, and no elder, jw, or any belief can keep that from me. How ironic, the law of the land oversees Jehovah's in this instance. Or should they remain 'faithful' to Jehovah and not speak to me?
