Yes indeed, it doesn’t sound like it but it’s well researched.
i think its funny (but know not everyone will like it).

i want to research into some of the jws teachings in the hope i can find something thatll eventually make my family listen to me, and something little toe said once got me thinking.. why dont the jws take the bread and wine?
i know why they say they dont but as little toe said jesus died for us and told us to take it its kind of like saying 'no thanks jesus im not bothered that you died for me'.
what do you guys think?
I couldn’t find the site (Maybe someone knows it), but in the occult there is a celebration of the death of Christ, it is celebrated at Nissan 14 after sundown. They sit in circles of five or thirteen and say a blessing before passing the emblems. And very significantly, no one partakes of the wine & bread in symbol of there rejection of Christ -"no thanks Jesus". Now, what does that remind you of?

(1)how many of you out there, back when you were still a jw, heard the bros say "yeah the cong is a little cold cos of <insert scapegoat here>, but there is genuine love among the country congs/ the foreign lang congs etc??
(2)how did you respond to that remark?
did you accept that concession or did the absence of unpretentious love in your cong continue to bother you?
Rachel,
the coldest congregation I ever visited was in NY (and Germans are not warm and outgoing people either). It wasn’t just any congregation, it was the Columbia Heights Congregation. It had about 40+ elders and half of the GB, Karl Adams was the TMS conductor (actually he was one of the few friendly persons). Some were distant, some were arrogant and many were nervous. The delivery of the program was not what I expected. Only Adams and another speaker were confident all others were highly nervous (I guess because of the big cameras). Members were assigned to give answers in advance. And everyone that had a part or a comment assigned was shaking. It was like backstage atmosphere. GB Barber was there too, but he didn’t know much of what was going on, due to his age, he was told where he was and what he was to do (like raise the hand to give a comment, stand up for the song; I wonder how he is leading the worldwide work). It was more a show of a congregation than it was a real congregation. What I expected to be most encouraging turned out to be the opposite.

This was a big issue for me. Being born in and doing a lot of travelling, I got to spend time with different congregations. Just visiting a congregation was encouraging, because of the warmth and welcome by the local brothers. But once you got to stay a little longer you got to see the same problems you find in your home congregation. Everywhere there was gossip, gossip, gossip and there was no way of not getting involved, not to mention the big problems.
My experience was that the foreign-language congregation had a warmer atmosphere, but also more fanatic elders. I don’t know who this fits together, but that was my observation. Foreign-language groups tend to have poorer and less educated members, especially among the adults. In many of their home countries the lack of education was not due to lack of interest but due to the lack of possibility.
The lack of love becomes very evident through the visit of the CO. Especially during the service week, but also the weeks before, the whole atmosphere changes. Brothers who normally don’t speak to each other would stand together and chat for the CO to see it. Elders are ever so warm and interested to be encouraging to you. And soon after the CO is gone the cold breeze returns.

Wow thank you leolaia,
B. This is exactly how we feel. In other words, there is no Jeremiah, Isaiah, or prophet among us today. No one is inspired. They're diligent students of the Bible, of the Scriptures, they look to God to provide the guidance as they read and explain the Scriptures.
So they are not inspired nor directed by God, but only guided, no not quit, they look for guidance.
Well, isn’t it good to be in the truth!? Actually we are not really in the truth, but we are surly looking for (our own) truth that fits into the light which we so follow.

It was an old pioneer sister in my Congregation, we had a few of them and they always had difficulty finding a partner to go out in FS. I wonder if she is still alive.
I fully agree with what you’re saying and to me your interview is very revealing. But I was listening to it thinking how I would have reacted to the statements of Brown if I was still an active witness. Because today reading the bible, the WT or listening to WT talks on tape I see and hear things with different eyes and ears. Today I can see through the WT rhetoric. How will this interview sound to the average witness? By just listening to it could they pick out the falsehood and inconsistencies toward WT claims and mandates?
Don’t get me wrong, I very much enjoyed you pinning him down on ‘only true org’. And soon, I’m sure, we will be hearing about the first reactions from JW’s listening to the recording. That will be most interesting. As soon as I get some reactions I will forward it to the forum.

Nice work Lisa. You did a great job. I'm not sure I understand how his rhetoric is any different from what every jw hears at each meeting though.

Lisa, I enjoyed the interview, thank you.
I think he avoided to say JW are the only true religion, because he wanted to avoid sounding judgmental towards the other religions (never mind the WT teaching and judgment on Babylon the Great). But as a whole I think you could play this interview at the KH and not many would get stumbled. He used the same rhetoric that was used in my active years. He got out of the fruit-identity by illustrating Judas.
Brown used expressions somewhat like "we are imperfect, we are not inspired like Moses, etc. we follow the truth we find in the bible, we not cover up, and we follow Cesar’s law, Armageddon? We can’t look into people’s hearts and leave judgment to Jehovah…" he didn’t say clearly JW are not the only true religion or other religions are also used by God. I mean we know he is lying about the cover-ups, but the average JW doesn’t know this.
JW’s speaking to any interested person are not as judgmental towards religion as they would be to second the door closes. I was out with an old sister once and she told the not-interested person "You love Satan and will die at Armageddon!" but this was not what she learned recently at the TMS.
To me Brown used this opportunity to prove JW’s keep their organisation clean. He said nothing clearly to get himself or the WTS in trouble. Without me knowing what I now know about the WTS this is just an ordinary defence or explanation of the JW faith using a little "theocratic warfare", IMO.

is the watchtower organization filled with child molesters?
maybe not - but the cano incident should make us think about an allied problem,.
namely, general corruption and rot.. many years ago, it was not unknown to find strange photos and other materials in a bethel brother's room, after he died unexpectedly.. that doesn't prove that there is a massive problem with child molestation.
Minimus,
Sensationalizing is the problem. You get a bunch of hopeful people on the site and you let them think that these cases are the beginning of the end for the Watchtower.
Who??? I have not heard that being said on this or even your thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/115872/1.ashx
I think everyone is balanced in dealing with this Cano issue. What makes you believe it is necessary to prove ‘this will not make the WT fall’, WHO is saying that? Surly not many, if any!!!
I don’t get it. The repeated answer to your thread is "NO", but it’ll help exposing.
There is much interest but no sensationalizing, IMO!
Come on you’re just having fun…

Yes, I’m looking forward to a transcript or recording of the conversations and can’t wait for it to be published.
Will JR Brown have to own up to the statements he made and will the public hear about this in the media? If that should happen the WTS will brief the elders that it was all just theocratic warfare by Brown. Just wait. The spokesperson of God’s spokesperson will not get in trouble because of yet another pervert within HQ. Or is Brown preparing his own exit?
