I think the majority of GB members are or were dishonest, few might be or have been genuine.

you will see two major things in the reference bible.....1-that the inspired word has been changed....altered by satan and apostates...they took gods name out of the greek scriptures....check the insight book under jehovah and you will find that there is not a single ancient manuscript in the greek scriptures that contains the divine name.

2- you will notice that appendix 1-d tells us that they have "restored" the divine name in the greek scriptures where it was quoting from the hebrew scriptures.

there is no manuscript support for doing this, but what is worse is that they don't tell you they have also put it in the nwt wherever the hell they feel like it!!

Before I found out that the NWT put in Jahs name where it didn't belong, I was always disappointed about jesus sermon on the mount. When teaching how to pray, "let your name be sanctified...", why did he not USE the name jehovah? It would have made it so much easier to convince people of the "truth"! Why did jesus not use the name in his everyday speech, I wondered. Or why did paul not use it?

We don't celebrate holidays because ........

i just can't stomach the time wasted in meetings and in the literature about the jw stand on holidays.. we try to explain why we don't celebrate christmas, mothers day, halloween, thanksgiving day, etc, etc, etc.. yet in reality, other than the memorial and anniversaries, we don't celebrate anything, regardless of the origins of the holiday.

if a new holiday was created encouraging people to be nice to each other, we still wouldn't celebrate it ... it would be worldly!!!.

all the time and energy put into determining the origins of certains days is just a waste of time.

The reason that witnesses don't celebrate holidays is in order to keep them seperate.

Yes, thats the main reason! It is done in order to keep control, because the more you are seperate from other people, wich is the result of not celebrating, the more you are dependant of the org.

Without this seperation from relatives, family and other non-jws we share the community with, the threat of disfellowshipping would not be as effective.

The wt leadership fully knows and counts on this!

Why the molestation issue won't bring down JW's

Jws love to point at the bad conduct of the clergy, the wt is full of it. Those scandals are used to show that so-called false religion does not have gods spirit, is not the truth.

EVERYTHING they say is necessarily false.

I have NEVER heard that kind of argumentation here. People mainly criticize the way molestation gets handled. My sister did not have a witness to her molestation. She was told not to tell anyone, not even her parents. Otherwise she would be disfellowshipped for slander and bringing reproach upon Jahs name.
So much to the claims of a clean congregation and spiritual paradise. Isn't that supposed to be unique only among JWs!?

The JW doctrines stand even after the mud slides off.

The only real consistency I find with the wts and jws is the constant proclamation: "The END IS NEAR, only a few more years,..." and that since Russels time... Read Luke 21:8

So, are you saying that these higher ups are not TRULY MISGUIDED?

Some are victims of victims...not all!
There are higher ups, policy makers or long-time elders who fully know it is not the truth and are in for the motives mentioned above.
Undercover apostate elders who post here, I understand, are in a difficult position due to family relations.

I know a CO who read COC, but knowing him, I'm convinced he doesnt believe it is the truth anyway. He is in it for the power. And he get much of it!

EXACTLY -depends on the motivation - if you are not in for everalsting life but the power trip, it becomes easy to live the lie and post on here. It does depend on the person.

This CO I know is a 100% wt company man, he hunts down undercover apostates and is a pedophile-protector. He was a missionary, missionary home overseer... and the last I know he is a CO.
I doubt he would post on a forum like this one.
I think the higher up you go inside the org, the easier it is to live a double-life (alc., sex, theft,...). but not when it comes to apostasy.
