Hi Randy, you wrote "It's amazing - now all these are gone. Replaced with relatively powerless men compared to these guys."
In what way is the current GB relatively powerless compared to the former GB? Is it because of their personality or are there legal reasons?
Reading COC it looks like only very few on the GB had real power (like TJ, Barry..). Most remained to be followers of the strong personalities.
i just watched and downloaded the funny wts introduction video for new bethel workers from youtube.com.
i watched it, and i had to laugh much.
about the interviews with the gb members.
I too wonder how these old men, who mainly had "watchtower-education", can run the corporation.
But who actually runs the wt, who has the final say or who makes the big decisions I only hear nothing more then rumours?
CEO's also have lawyers and business counsellors, but they still run the show. Because they decide whom they ask for advise and if the advice is followed.
Is there any proof that the lawyers or anyone else has more authority than the GB?
in treehouse of horror xx (don't have a cow, mankind"), the simpsons parody of 28 days later and i am legend, bart simpson is the "saviour", the source of the anti-mutation vaccine.
the soldier explains that men have to eat his flesh to get saved:.
marge apparently disagrees:.
not only is there a change in the way the magazines for field service are distributed to publishers.. there's news of a change in distribution of the study issue of the wt.
from now on a publisher will.
get them like they get their kms, that is by having their service groups overseer hand deliver them.. another way to exercise control for control's sake and make the sgos busier and feeling more and.
I'm not very uptodate. So the Book Study Conductors are now Service Group Overseers and the Service Group is the former Book Study Group, is that right?
i believe it's very republican in its outlook..
more Republican

I was a pioneer and out in service with our new (young) CO. While traveling in the car I told him about one of my BS. This man was a SDA and I was very impressed how similar our beliefs are and that they make use of our books. When I told the CO that when he prays I feel like he is a brother and that he has deep love for the bible. The CO said, that he should not be praying at the beginning or end of the study, because he is not baptized. I was stunned and asked why. The CO said, he will be discussing this at the next meeting and we will soon be studying this in the wt.
I told him, this doesn't make sense, because when I offered the BS, the guy said, we can study from our books, but also from his churches ones. I thought that was a good idea. Later I was told by the elders that this is not allowed and that I should not be reading books from Babylon the Great. When I tried to explain this to my BS we agreed to use only the bible as a basis for our BS. It was one of the studies I most enjoyed.
When I invited him to the kh, he said, he'll be happy to come and invited me to his church. So now I had to tell him, that I cant attend his church services. I really felt bad!!!
So I asked the CO, how can we expect anyone to accept the truth? We offer literature, but dont accept theirs. We invite to our meeting, but dont go to theirs. How should I tell my BS that he cant pray in his own home? This cant be right! A sister was sitting in the back of the car and agreed with me. The CO said, we have the truth and must trust the society and the wt will explain.
just curious if the crazy was limited to my town or not.. i remember and elder, during a talk about everyone being resurrected that it included all the babies that had miscarried or were aborted, because the big j knew what their hearts were.
after the meeting, he was telling a couple of us how it also disturbed him that his wife would have to carry someone elses babies and he would be raising someone elses children.. another elder said that we would colonize other planets, and that since the bible never said the big j didn't make other inhabited worlds that there was a whole universe of planets to colonize after armageddon.. anyone else hear crazy crap like this?.

I remember that being taught at the book study. It was in the gray "Prince of Peace" book, if I remember correctly.
i find it interesting that samuel herd (as co) promoted the book angels and women in his talk "fear of giants".
he called it a fascinating book, once you pick it up you cant put it down without reading it from cover to cover!
he also mentions that russell wrote the foreword of the book and that it can be found in the gilead library.. .
