Many times, those JW parents were "off the wall" and very opinionated. As a single parent, they tried to "run my home", always telling me to get a switch from the tree at the KH. For what? My kids were NOT misbehaving at the time.

My son had hernia surgery on a Thursday and he was in a lot of pain after the anesthesia wore off. Could you believe that one of the elders DARED to call me to see if I was going to the District Assembly at the Vet in Philly? I told him that my son had surgery and he said, "You can still bring him. Don't miss the assembly!"

Now, what male wants to climb steps at Vets Stadium (or any steps) less than 24 hours after having surgery in their groin area?

I did NOT attend and was rebuked for it. But I chewed these folks out for their stupidity. One MS had the nerve to also get on me. I asked him why did his WIFE stay home after giving birth to their baby a week before the assembly? He said "doctor's orders". And I said the same applied here.

I have never taken a sick child to a meeting or assembly and I would never go myself. That's one reason why I'm GLAD to be free of these idiots!

There was one guy in the congregation who was (and still is) a homosexual. Seemed like the single mothers trusted their children with him. He would take preteen boys to the beach all the time, but NOT my son. Hell NO!!!!

Even some of the married couples looked at him with a wary eye. I just didn't let my kids spend time alone with the males. I DON'T TRUST ANY MALE AND ANY MALE COULD HARM A CHILD. Now, it's coming out more and more about these JWs being pedophiles...they are just as bad as the Catholic priests.

Don't work overtime

at this past week's service meeting, our congregation reviewed the part "keep seeking the kingdom first" in the january km.. the elder handling the part decided to include the admonition not to work overtime and risk missing a meeting, even if you need the money.

one drone in the audience even stated that working ot when we need it could lead us into becoming more and more materialistic.

well, when it comes time to take friday off to attend the district convention, i wonder if these same jws who refuse to work ot will get a favorable response from their employer when they request that friday off.

Yeah, I've heard that before!

As a single parent, it was a struggle raising children when the absent parent REFUSED to do his part. However, we made it! It wasn't that I was gotten on about the overtime, I was gotten on about having a full time job. Could you believe those idiot sisters wanted me to quit a FULLTIME job with benefits as an administrative assistant, and get a job cleaning homes part time and pioneering?

"Oh, you could qualify for welfare benefits!" EXCUSE me! That angered me. The reason? They felt that I was "too much into the corporate world" with my job.

They would talk about how THEY did it and when I said I'm NOT going to quit a job to go on welfare, that comment was NOT met favorably. Gosh, they were encouraging an able bodied person to be on welfare!

To supplement my income, I took on a second job and told them to mind their business! One of the elders got on me and I told him to mind his business also. I wasn't out committing a sin, so what's the problem?
