one of this biggest teachings present in mostly all christian denominations is the idea that the bible is infallibile.
my question is, where does the bible say this?
i know of many scriptures that point to the idea that what was written was directed by god, but where does the idea that what written is totally without error originate?
For me, it comes from the WTS illustration about the boss dictating a letter to his secretary to type and that is how God used men , by his holy spirit, to write the bible. It made sense to me and still does. Obviously, you have to have faith to believe it.

i must say, it was easier being a jw, believing that i would in fact be resurrected to a paradise earth and having the faith that would definitely happen.
i still believe in the bible to the extent that i believe jesus led a good life and if we follow his example we will lead one to.
however, the bible was written by men, who are imperfect and therefore i don't feel we can take the entire book at face value as truth.

keep trying to get to your meetings remember the sister who walked 2 hours one way to feast at the spiritual banquet , or the bro who crossed crocodile infested waters to get to his meeting.. anyone remember any other guilt trip inducing illustrations?
How about the one where a brother decided to skip the meeting, and went out for a walk. In the course of his walk, he got caught up in a mob.
The police came during the riot, and they grabbed the brother. He protested to the police "but I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses!" and they told him if he really was, he would have been at the meeting and not out with this mob, because they knew there was a meeting that night.
That was in a 1980's yearbook, but I don't remember which one.
The reason I remember the story, is because I used it during "Announcements" to open the service meeting one time.

Presently, I am inactive, but have never been d.f.'ed and have never d.a.'ed. I feel I didn't leave them, they left me.
Here is my question: If the end comes the way the Bible says it will, but we don't know exactly whose interpretation will be played out, am I saved no matter who turns out to be correct?

So, Blue, are the elders going to pay your rent? Or when you get tired of renting, are they going to buy you a house? Are they going to provide your medical insurance? Or are you and your wife (when you get married) going to be without coverage when one of you develops a pre-existing condition and no one will cover you?
When you need a new car, are they going to buy it for you? Are you going to have to get deeply into debt, just to keep up with the ever increasing costs of just being alive, let alone having anything extra?
5 years from now are you going to find out that those same elders sent their kids to college, while telling you and your dad it's a bad thing?

Good for you, Bluebeads. You don't have to tell anyone anything. Just get your education now, so you don't regret it in 20 years. My daughter's about your age and she is going back to school, because she sees how her mother and I struggle financially. Go get that degree!
