Hmmmmmm....you never know....they may value their jobs in this economy..but I second what jgnat said. Make sure that all records are kept up to date, and maybe even start some cross training in case one JW goes and someone else needs to fill in until a replacement can be found.
Also, have a meeting in which you provide refreshments and tell everyone what a great job they are doing. Put in a suggestion box, perhaps. Maybe some new decor? Make work a pleasant place..one that they couldn't easily replace.
I think many JWs these days are willing to do less than toe the WT line when it comes to their lievlihood.
Keep us posted.

Today my husband surprised me...
by mrsjones5 inyesterday we were getting our van repaired and while that was going on we decided to window shop at a really cool furniture consignment shop.
i saw a baker's rack that was really nice and that i would love to have.
hubby looked at it too and thought it was a nice piece but we had to leave the shop to pick our van.

Undercover apostates...
by Maze ini've observed some forum users here that claim to be active witnesses (even claims to be ministerial servants or elders) while duplicitously supporting apostates online.
my contention is this; why attend meetings and/or participate in the preaching activity when the second you divulge your apostate thinking into the congregation, you'll be disfellowshipped?
while this action taken may seem to be harsh, the outworking of events wouldn't be much different in one of christendom's churches.

I wish you well if you are leaving us. I can see that it bothers you to be duplicitous. I do hope that you will cleanse your conscience by divulging to the elders your participation in supporting this apostate online forum. Only then can you be free....don't fear disfellowshipping....the discipline may be grievous for a time but will yield peacable fruits......

Welcome!
How heartbreaking are the many stories of stolen youth and crushed dreams.
How about me? I did it to myself! At 20 I started listening to the JWs, and was baptised in 1973, at 21. In later years, I wanted to get an education, but my elder by then hubbie said it wouldn't be setting a good example. I took several classes anyway, and enjoyed them. One was Geology. I realised that if I was younger..by this time I was in my forties...I might have liked to go into this field. I kept taking a class here and there, but had to work full time, and then there were the meetings.
Well, several years ago, my family and I left the org., and I decided I will have my degree. I am 59 now, and still at it. I will be 61 when I get it, as I am still working, and can't take more than two classes per semester.
You can do it...set your mind.....you aren't as old as I am....we're behind you! GO FOR IT!

Welcome.
Glad you were never baptised.
any time I bring up my views it turns into a 5 hour phone argument
How about avoiding "your views" for awhile, and realise that mom and dad have their views, also. Just agree to disagree and talk about more pleasant things. They may feel like they are being put into a defensive mode. Look at all the investment they put into believing it...plus perhaps they feel guilty about your childhood and feel they must justify themselves to feel better.
Maybe just "drop crumbs" for awhile and hopefully your folks will eventually come to their own realization.

New Here!!
by Free!! ini've been watching from the sidelines for a while... reading about your experiences and it has helped me a lot!!!.
i am a 27 yo girl, i converted into a jw @ 20, at was going thru a difficult time in my life and they bastards sucked me in!!!
i did not realize how controlling things were going to get... about 1 year into my study i moved w another single sister and then baptize, looking back i think i went thru w baptism because i fell pressure by the "loving" congregation that wanted the best for me... i remember coming out of the pool and one of the brothers saying "another victim" and taking a pic of me... anyways, that wasn't the worst of it.... remember single female!!
