  Multiple Abuse ...

  i wonder how many posters here are not only in recovery from spiritual abuse (jws) , but other traumas,, such as sexual and physical abuse,,, or rape as a young person (ie, child or teen).. .

  how many of us are recovering from double - or triple - trauma ... ?.

  anyone want to share?.

  I just read all the stories on this thread. Jehovah's happy people....

  So sorry to hear about the childhoods that some of you have endured. However, the fact that you are able to go on, posting to help others, shows that you have what it takes and are exceptionally strong individuals.

  I am sure it is hard sometimes to look forward instead of dwell on the past. The very fact that those of you with children have determined to be compassionate, loving parents speaks volumes about your character. You have risen above your abuse and are now able to help others by posting your stories.

  a very reliable friend told me this: the bro was commenting on what was "unacceptable" conduct in the bedroom between married persons.

  needless to say, he had everyone's attention.

  he went on to say "we must avoid perversions such as oral and annual sex.

  An elder, from the platform said that Jesus was considered a frantic, and his followers were frantics. I suppose he meant fanatic.

  Same elder, on the platform at a Circuit Ass. said that people want us to be in the same low STINK of debauchery instead of sink.

  Correction: The Watchtower magazine is the textbook, and the curriculum at the "University" keeps changing as the "new light" changes...generation, resurrection, blood, etc.

  The cost: All hope of a real education and stagnation of the brain due to the WTS "Doing the research for you."

  I don't get it...

  I'm with you. I never saw it when it first came out because I was a dub, of course. The other day it came on so my husband and I decided to see what we'd missed. I guess you just can't ever go back. Perhaps at the time I would have "gotten it" but now, it was just all I could do to suffer through some of it. So glad it was recorded and I could hit fast forward through some of it......

  Hello From a Newbie

  i found this site randomly the other day on an unrelated search, and its nice to find a place where people can discuss a relgion that in house cannot be discussed without either being quoted mantras or a very skewed view of the world.. ok about me.. im a 24 year old taiwanese-american, and i have been raised as a jw from the age of about three to the age of 17, when i unoffically left.

  i started to have doubts around age 12, but did what i was supposed to to keep mommy and daddy happy.

  my parents are jws, as well as my older 1/2 sister, and my younger sister.

  Please be patient with family. They are indoctrinated and doing what they feel is right. I was a JW for over thirty years. My family (husband, daughter and I) are all out together now.

  i cannot seem to shake the visual image i have from about 5 days ago.

  i went over to my mom's house, and apparently she didn't mention it to my younger sister (who lives in their downstairs apartment).

  she and her baby were visiting with my mom, and when she saw me walking up the side walk, she grabbed her toddler up in her arms and i saw her hauling ass down the stairs....the toddler didn't understand why she was just snatched up and hauled away and started screaming.

  there is a sister in our hall who has made it clear why her "jehovah" does not like weak ones.

  her husband the po, will refuse to work with those who are not getting ten hours or more a month.

  the weak ones "are spiritually dangerous and will bring you down.

  I think this forum is made up of folks who do recognize them for what they are.

  i need to get this out and this is the only place i know that it will be ok to do so.. so i've been out (inactive) for over a year a half now and decided i wanted a relationship with a non-jw, obviously.

  i'm in my late 20s and never really had a girlfriend.

  it doesn't help that i'm an introvert and not a very social person, add to that the guilt and control issues i have from jws and i don't think i have many outgoing attractive qualities.. i have been on dates with about 4 girls so far, one i approached randomly and the others from online dating.

  I'm with rebel 8. If you are looking for a one night stand, I suppose a prostitute will, for the money, tell you anything you want to hear.

  If you'd like to meet a person with a view to a relationship, you need to start making friends.

  All of the suggestions for walking club, etc. are good ones. Plus, if you didn't complete your education because of being a JW, this would make sense. You'll meet fellow students, plus increase your self-esteem by learning more about the world around you. Not to mention the opportunity to learn skills that will enable you to support yourself and someone else.

  I have been married for forty one years. We started as friends, and still are best friends. That's why we've lasted so long. I hope you find your special someone that you can be yourself around, and enjoy each other's company.

  hi, just wanted to introduce myself.

  born-in, as was my husband.

  we were both baptized as teens, married when we were teens (he was early 20s) and we were both the "perfect" witnesses.
