Hubby has finally come around....had to share!

i know it has been hard on him as he was raised a witness and i was not.

Is the Watchtower so assured of its members' loyalty it can do and say as it pleases?
by truthseeker ini don't know how any of you feel about this, but is it possible the watchtower society is so self-assured of its members' loyalty that it no longer cares what it says or does anymore?.
one example would be the constant admonition to practically worship the faithful and discreet slave.. another is changing the end of the calling of the anointed from 1935 to no fixed date, allowing the number of anointed to be at its highest for over 40 years.. what about the overlapping generations?
most non-jws, if pointed out the inconsistencies, would see the folly of this latest understanding, yet the rank and file swallow it, hook, line and sinker.. such changes are almost blatant, in your face, yet where is the anger, the rage, at yet another move of the goal posts?.

When I was "in" and they announced "new light," I assumed I was spiritually weak if I didn't understand it, and of course couldn't give voice to my concerns-rather like acknowledging the Emperor had no clothes.
I though that mindlessly "running with the celestial chariot" and that "all the research has been done for you" was the only thing I could do. Notice how many " "s I have to use for the WT jargon.

My best holidays ever !!

today is my birthday and i ve been receiving good news and love since last week from my loved ones... thursday night my boyfriend gave me a birthday present, saturday nigth christmas dinner with my family including my mom and my boyfriend :) (my mom hated my bf and that night they got along so well!
) yesterday my boyfriend took me to a nice beach club and we had a great time with his friends, this morning i received a birthday party from friends in my building !!!

Sounds great....the only thing I don't like about the birthday celebration thing is that then I feel obligated to remember everyone else's and reciprocate with big gifts or a party also.

So glad to be home from the hospital!

i had to have a hysterectomy and some other repairs.
i told the doc that since i'm going under anyway, if you see something that needs fixing, do it....and he went to town!

Dear 3rd gen,
Of course you feel "down." You had a hysterectomy. I had one a few years ago. It takes some getting used to. I was bleeding heavily, and having wild mood swings as the hormone levels whished around my body. When the female parts were yanked, the moods abruptly stopped. For awhile it was strange-I didn't really feel things like I did before. Also I had such hideous hot flashes-hope you don't have those...if you do, know that they get better after a time.
You will get your strength back. Rest, try to read some joke books, watch funny movies, and drink plenty of liquids. Even though your daughter doesn't "get you" give her a call, and just see what she's been up to lately.
You will soon feel much better and whatever the physical problems were are gone now, so look forward, not back!

I cannot believe my father called me to ask this!
by serenitynow! inso my father, a jw bum who abandoned us when we were children to be with his pioneer whore, called me tonight and left a message.
this is surprising because i have not seen or spoken to him for a couple of years, other than to leave a message a couple of weeks ago to tell him that i had to hospitalize my sister for being suicidal.. i found out about a week ago that one of his very good friends, a brother whose family used to go to the hall with us and used to be close to when we were children is dying in the hospital after having a couple of strokes and a heart attack.
they've been talking about taking him off of the ventilator for a few days.

That's a tough one.
Seems like he always put the JWs first...of course, now that he has needs, where are they for him? Perhaps he's found this out the hard way.
It is difficult to conceive of the fact that he is asking for your help without a shred of an apology to you first.
Only you can decide what to do. You will have to live with your decisions.

Time for another school update!! Really great news!!!
by noni1974 ini just got my offical grades from my school.
for the first time ever in my life i earned a 4.0 gpa for this last semester.
i made the dean's list again for the fall 2011 semester.

I wonder if the one who asked if he could give you a hug felt bad because he knew the pain that shunning causes.
They can talk to you because they are elders and don't have to go by the same rules as the lower ones in the congo. But "no one is higher than anyone else" in the congregation-ha!
Don't you think you could get a small tree and enjoy it? I certainly am, and I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC! Just think how old some of the songs are-yet all sung to praise the son of God. I feel that it unites us with our ancestors through so many years.
