  I feel pain in my heart for you. My sixteen year old daughter was cruelly treated by men who mascaraded as Christian shepherds but were vile Pharisees. They disfellowshipped her, telling her "And if you are still disfellowshipped at Armageddon, you can take some comfort in knowing that Jehovah can read hearts." Then of course, they would have liked nothing better than for her dad and me to shun her unmercifully.

  I went back and read some of your first posts on the forum. You had a horrible custody battle for your kids, I saw. At that time the oldest was thirteen. By now she must be eighteen. Can she be with you now? Do you see any of your family now?

  Too Sick to come to JWD

  hey folks, been sick for the last 2 days.

  yesterday spent the whole day in bed.

  everything ached, had a headache, stuffy and runny nose, and alternating hot flashes and cold chills.

  Sorry to hear you were sick. I work in an elementary school and for two years straight I had the flu. Now I always take flu shots and haven't had it since. Little ones are always sneezing and coughing and don't wash hands too often.

  Disfellowshipping - How long to return?

  does anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders?

  i was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago.

  with my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, i have only been attending the sunday talk & wt meeting every week.

  It is hard to believe that your husband is still fighting to be reinstated after three years. What in the world do the elders want? Do they just get off on seeing someone grovel and salivate to see the power they can hold over individuals at their whim?

  I am amazed that your husband could know that some have been reinstated for heinous things in one year or less, and others must work like dogs and are still considered "not worthy." Doesn't he see how little his life means to them? ARGGGGG-I am angry at the thought of this #@&^*#!!! You must be so frustrated!!!

  If you write to the WTS's Service desk, you address it to Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. I am unaware of local congregations being addressed in this manner.

  I really can't figure out from this article who did what to who.

  have you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?

  by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.

  have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

  It was in 1918 that Jehovah began rewarding ‘those fearing his name, the small and the great’—the first of these being the anointed Christians who had died faithful, whom he resurrected and stationed in the heavenly ranks of the 24 elders. (Revelation 11:18)

  Three and a half years later in the spring of 33 CE he was resurrected as a mighty spirit person. Could it then be reasoned that since Jesus was enthroned in the fall of 1914, the resurrection of his faithful anointed followers began 3 1/2 years later in the spring of 1918? That is an interesting possibility. Although this cannot be directly confirmed in the bible, (like virtually ALL of their doctrines can't) it is not out of harmony with other scriptures that indicate that the first resurrection got under way soon after Christ's presence began.

  What do you think is behind the watchtower change in 2008 ?

  i think it's an atempt to catch faders or atleast make active dubs feel special.

  it also could be a cost cutting measure to though.

  getting rid of the km's and even up awakes and watchtowers would save some trees.

  He said there's no direction on that "at this time." He suggested that if I consistently attended meetings, I should have no problem continuing to receive either issue of the Watchtower, and I should be welcome at the study.
  
  But he could not guarantee it.

  Well, don't we all feel the love here. So if I decided to go to a meeting, I would have to walk in and sit down, and if they deemed it approved, probably after much whispering in the back among the elders, I might get a WT or I might have to sit there with nothing while they went over the paragraphs and the ones around me felt uncomfortable but were afraid to share an extra magazine with me.

  I am not df'd but innactive. Even if I did want to go back, I would not feel welcomed by this type of attitude.

  I know it's always the money, but I sure think the smugness of the R and F will go to new heights now. This just proves to them the importance of going to the meetings, so they won't be left out of the WT loop, and also confirms to them that they must smugly avoid the non-consistent meeting attenders as weak and disobedient and undeserving and on their way to being bird food.
