What apostates fail to recognize is...
by nananana inyou can cut & paste all the excerpts from articles you want...you can leak all the boe letters, you can pretend to be witnesses and come to the conventions and meetings...but.
no other organization can begin to rival the success and magnitude of the prophecy found in mt 24:14. so apostates....don't waste your time spending countless hours digging up articles and reading books to convince yourself to turn away from jh's organization.
no matter what "evidence" you find you cannot ignore the obvious fulfillment of matthew 24:14.. .

I am so sorry everyone is deriding you here on the forum, as I for one think you have made an excellent point.
The Watchtower Society has, indeed, been preaching about the good news. The good news that the generation that was at an age of understanding in 1914, was born in 1914, are those wicked ones that deny Jesus, overlap in generations with the ones that were here somehow in 1914, will live to Armageddon.
No wonder they have to do so much preaching-they have to keep going back to the same people with the "new light" after preaching the "old light" to them.......

A funny thing happened to me yesterday
by JRK ini needed to go under my dresser for a dropped item, and came across my scale.
two things i really don't like are mirrors and scales, so i usually avoid them at all costs.
i decided to step on it for a change.

Listened to Dr. Oz on the TV yesterday. He said that at any age, a person can get fit.
There was one example of a woman who began weight lifting at the age of sixty-nine, and another woman who is a gymnast at age eighty-six! Also the baseball pitcher, Jamie Moyer, who is on a professional tem,pitching at age forty-nine.
If they can do it, we can too. I am sixty, and determined to get more exercise and stay fit. I plan to be a life-living apostate while the JWs are wishing me dead!

Welcome to the forum.
Ignore the aunt. She will eventually tire of the phone calls. If you speak to her, just say you were busy with your job, new home, etc. You are an adult, and as such, know what to do. She need not worry, or try to live your life for you. If she shunned you, it might be a relief!
As for your mom, don't give any more information than is necessary. Just keep up the "work keeps me busy thing."
There is a lot of pressure when you are first on your own. Sorry this has added to the mix. Take a deep breath, and enjoy your freedom.

Yes, they are hypocritical.
It seems like whatever they do, it's O.K. as long as they don't "leave the truth." And then they talk about how bad "worldly" people are..sheesh!
The poor exwife of Yan....she may not even have known about the frauds he perpetrated, or felt she had to go along with him. Now he wants to dump her in prison...."He's made it clear he will testify against her" but "his first allegiance was to the creator."

Threats from the JW mafia (subtle threats)
by thecrushed inmy dad recently found out i wasn't coming to meetings and going out in field service.
he found an excuse to get me alone in his car and just lit into me about it.
he said that if i'm not going out in service that i'm not one of jehovah's witnesses and the brothers won't be able to trust me when the time comes to go undercover due to being attacked by the authorities.

For years they said that the book study groups would serve as meeting places when all the Kingdom Halls were shut down.........
They hammered away at how important it was to get to the book study groups....
Then they quit using private homes and sent everyone to the Khall......
So if the Kingdom Halls are shut down, how will anyone go to a meeting?

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

I think you would be the perfect person to write the obituary. I wrote the one for my mother and included how she traveled with Dad when he was in the Marines, and kept it upbeat, as a tribute to her life. This will be the last thing you can do for him, as the one who loved him so.

A JWN Member just lost her Husband and She could use some encouragement.

unfortunately, her husband died monday, and she is feeling very sad.
