welcome to the board. So sorry about the pain that your wife has been through. But so glad that she had you to
help her and to find this site. It has been a real blessing to most of us that have questioned the org. Tell your mother
that she is never to old if she wants to know if her religion teaches the truth of the Bible. She just has to want to know.
Do her own research. But do it with her bible. I'm 69 and it is been hard but it is getting easier everyday.
Just don't push her with talking against the org. they want to put the brick wall up. So hope your family makes it out.

Giving thanks in restaurants!
by Beck_Melbourne inwhen i was in dub-dom....i used to hate eating out....my ex always made us bow our heads and close our eyes tight shut while he gave thanks out loud.
did you do that in public??
or did you do it discreetly with your head bowed but eyes not shut....or.....head in hand...hoping people would think u were in deep thought?

We never said prayers in the restaurants, everyone would take care of their own prayer. Looked like they wanted attention
if they made a big deal out of it. Guess everyone has too do their own thing. DF -

Welcome Buffy.
If your worried about you children now don't go back to the JW Because you may lose them big time later.
I use to prayer that my children ( I have 4) would have a chance to make their own minds up to what they wanted to believe
now I wish with all my heart that I had never heard of the Witness. They have my 4 kids and 12 grandkids and the rest
of the in-laws captive. I hate the Org. for that, so stay away from them before they can get your kids.

Watchtower V's apostates who is winning?
by sleepy inwho's got the upper hand at the moment, the watchtower org or the apostates.. when you first leave and find out there are many other like you , you can feel like the watchtower org is crumbling.but many have been out for years and the watchtower has continued to grow.. are efforts by apostates working?.
or is the watchtower able to easily counter them?.
do most leave the org due to efforts by those who have already walked out , or do most find their own way?.

It is amazing how many of us seem to not check out what the org. is telling us, unless someone tells us something
that makes us wonder about things. I'm really amazed at the age of some of you and no longer than you were really
in the org. Are you smarter than the old timers or what. Being in it for 46 yrs. having some doubts but not checking it out. It really makes you angry to think you have given
them all those years for free. Now I want my kids back and can't get them. They are in ;their 40's is there any hope
for them? I'm so glad to see all the new posters everyday that is what gives me some hope. I know of a couple more
that are planning on leaving but may that time. Keep up the good work everyone. I enjoy the board very much. Thank
you Simon. Desertflower -

If you were wrong about the truth, what else?
by ballistic inwhat effect has having a whole section of your life proved to be a falsehood had on you?.
anybody that has been a witness will understand the time, effort, comitment and money that it took to be a member.
the way it dominated our lives, affected every decision we made and shaped our future.. some have left and turned to other faiths and some (like myself) have lost all religious faith (and i make no appology for that).

Mouthy I feel like you do about people leaving JW then joining another religion. I was a JW for 46 yrs and there
is a real anger for being so brain wash for so many years. Guess they kept us so buzy we never had time to doubt.
I believe that we all have a had time believing in God after what we have been thru. I do believe in God and Jesus and hope
I never quite believing in them.
