Most annoying Kingdom song
by Billzfan23 inmine would have to be "dark days are here!
men live in fear!....
" followed by the annoying change to a happy beat before the chorus "but the bible gives us a reason for cheer.." .

Mine has to be the one about the light getting brighter, partly because of the sentiments, partly because it was rubbish, but mostly because it was a two page four verser that they would always assign at the end of the *&%$^#$ three hour Saturday afternoon session of the DC when you just want to get the heck out of there.

These are all soooo old. I remember hearing them in the 80's when the work in Poland really was under ban. I am thinking that there are three reasons for the age of these stories:
1. They lost Jah's spirit once they joined the UN!
2. All the witnesses with any imagination have long since left.
3. No one goes out in service anymore (and no more halls being built).

Did anyone get the old "counterfeit money" illustration?
by themonster123 ina couple of my old witness girlfriends came over last night (note-i only recently left the org.
like 2 months ago, so people are still trying to get me to come back and "reason" with me)...and they used that stupid "counterfeit money" illustration.
i swear, every time i tell people i don't think it's the truth, they put that old illustration on me!

Valid point about illustrations being only illustrations not actual arguments in themselves. My mum told me this one a couple of years ago and it caught me out. I wasn't sure how to reply. However now I think that I would say something along the lines of,
"what happens when the government keeps recalling the money and issuing new bills. How do you keep it all straight. Is it ok to keep using the former 'real' bills or are they the same as counterfit bills?"

If they were to apologize they might as well turn out the lights and close up. To apologize would admit that men and not God had been running things for the last 140 years. So it would never happen.
However I would like them to apologize for the sake of those still in. It may remove the scales from their eyes for a moment. But most likely it would be some ambiguous half assed apology anyway.

Sass_my_frass,
(Sorry trigger happy)
My ex has never remarried, that is why it was completely out of the blue when they called, it was a good two years after I had told her. I asked them why it took so long and they said not really sure, just that they couldn't locate me.
In answer to how long between my empty threat and the letter, I would say only a few days, but I am sure enough time for them to call HQ and get an answer.

I had faded for some years, then my still witness wife and I split up. At that point there was no one else in my life but she asked me that once there was that I would let her know so that she could remarry if the opportunity arose, I agreed. After I started seeing someone (in the biblical sense) I called her up and told her, though I said that I would not repeat it to a JC or anyone else, that it was between her and I alone.
Some years later I got a call from two elders who had never been in my cong. though due to boundary changes were now in my ex's hall. They said there were some charges of adultery that they would like to discuss with me. I said that I had nothing to say to them. I then received a letter by registered mail inviting me to a JC, they said to call if I wasn't going to make it. So I called and said that I would not be going and if they did anything to jeopardize my relationship with my children that I would sue them personally. I realized that they were holding the cards but I hoped that they would cease and desist if it would cause them trouble, after all it was about 5 years since I had attended a meeting. I received a second letter via reigstered post saying that a decision had been made in my case and if I wanted to know what it was to call. I never called but an announcement was made. I am not sure to this day if I dissasociated myself or if I am dfed.
