Non Jw and Jw can the relationship last?
by Dayshdeess ini have recentley fallen for a very nice female.
she's in her early twenties and i am 31, age we dont have a problem with and to be honest and soppy we truly love each other, her family have disowned her because of what she believes, my family have their doubts but again thats not a problem, i value my familys opinions who have already voiced their doubts, but i would like to make this work, albeit for her beliefs.. i feel she has been shown this way, firstly by her best friend who was born into it and has recentley been disfellowshipped for falling for a non jw, and also by things which have happened to her in her short life.
i knew after the first month that she was a jw, but she kept telling not to worry, as it wouldnt affect our future.

Man, how crazy is that?
At some point you just have to ask yourself what on earth a grown man is doing tailing his ex-wife around, defending stalking behavior, asking others to watch his ex-wife and begging third parties to pardon him in front of god so that he can marry again. Scrub, what's it going to take for you to snap out of it? Is this what you believe god wants from you? Really?
any one can play detective -- therefore basically it is some one who is famaliar with dectective work who did the survellaince -- so therefore it is not stalking -- just so you know the.. i will repeat again anyone has access to a public street..I could park on the street corner in your neighorhood 365 days a year and you could not do a thing about it unless I threaten you or approach you private property -- please read the stalking laws --- detectives do these type of things all of the time and so does the US goverment ---
and, just for the record, I do not do those sorts of things at any time, let alone all the time. And I resent the implication that anyone can play me...

The three wise men and their gifts!
by shotgun indoes the wt comment on this occasion?.
the gifts could be considered birthday presents couldn't they?.
if they were gifts to a future king why would his parents who knew his origins and his future accept gifts from pagan's for their son who's kingdom was to be no part of this world?

Who arrived first- the magi or the shepherds? Or, perhaps they arrived at the same time. Or, perhaps one of our gospel writing friends had it confused and only one group of visitors arrived- maybe magi, maybe shepherds (after all, they didn't seem to meet up in transit).
just some thoughts.

Left Behind - 1975 Style
by Stephanus inthe left behind series is popular these days, but the concept is hardly new.
in the early 70s a bloke named salem kirban began capitalising on the new "pre-millennial" fervour whipped up by hal lindsey.
the following pic is from p.44 of his book, what in the world will happen next?, published 1974.. .

Good catch on the tricycle, Jim! You must really have behaved like an ass when god chooses to "save" an inanimate object ahead of you.
Maybe if that man had mowed the lawn a little earlier like the wifey had asked him- he'd be floating into the heavenly abyss too. That's what you get for dodging the John Deere.

Been there, done that. This much I'll say- the jw/non-jw thing was absolute hell. Absolute hell.
My story may instill a false hope, so I feel I must caution you to understand that the happy resolve to my situation is an exception. My friend decided to leave the witnesses. However, in doing so he lost contact with his parents and so-called friends as he is now shunned. He grapples with loss and rejection constantly. Psychologically, I'd say he's been more than a bit marred by his experiences growing up a believing JW (and leaving the group while still believing). I'd say the problems that stemmed from being raised in a cult- and yes you heard me correctly- a cult have permeated every aspect of his life. He has a long way to go as he recovers from his experience.
There will still be troubles for him, despite the fact that he has left. Leaving is not a quick fix for years of psychological and emotional abuse instilled by his dysfunctional relationships that centered around being a member of a high-control group.
In your girlfriends case, she is choosing to enter a destructive high-control group as a young adult. If she picked up a tambourine, donned a toga and shaved her head... you might get suspicious that she had joined a not so healthy group, right? Well, unfortunately, though youmay not see the obvious outward signs such as the krishna toga, something in your girls life has caused her to turn to a high-control group- a cult- for comfort. Perhaps it was a trauma in her life, boredom, depression- I don't know. If you don't what it is that made her suddenly decide to join the group after having been a friend to a member for years without joining it- you need to start asking. Ask what she thought of the group several years ago versus what made her decide to join. Ask tons of questions. And start reading up on cults... try steven hassan's combatting mind control or releasing the bonds book (you can get them at libraries usually or try www.freedomofmind.com). There are other cult experts out there but he comes to mind.
My situation had a much better ending than many people's here- a fact I am deeply grateful for. But between you, me and the internet lampost- I always have a foot out the door in some ways- as I know if he seriously goes back to the group again, I won't be able to endure that hell a second time around.

125,725 JW Publishers are MISSING !!!
by Amazing inblueblades posted the 2003 service year report.
the watchtower society makes it appear that they grew 2.2% (which is lower than some of their earlier percentages) ... but the way they present the data, does not reveal the truth.
[note: the chart below is the smallest i could get it ... sorry for the inconvenience.

Hidden Images in the JW Publications
by Hunyadi ini am a disfellowshipped brother and have never had a problem with the organization's doctrines.
i am, however, deeply disturbed at the undeniable use of hidden or subliminal images in the illustrations of the wt publications.
there are so many that it cannot be interpreted as anything other than a deliberate pattern.

I clearly saw some satanic, happy-faced, apparently masonic-jewish goat blobs in those drawings! Okay, maybe not. But, while I'd give that some images may have been intentionally added by the art department/bored artist (or inexplicably by the governing body), some of the other images on your site were a bit of a streeeeeetch. Thanks for contributing though!
