i allready miss the style of the old jwd.. .
it seems like there are way more ads here, and the thread lists .
and trees seem cluttered and hard to scan.. .
I like the fact that the new style limits page width. I always found it annoying when the scroll bar showed up along the bottom of the screen. Already I have seen one instance where that happened on JWD that was corrected on JWN.

in your experience, are witnesses all about love?.
is the brotherhood really what it is said to be?.
did you feel the love from "the friends"?.
Yes, it is a community of sorts, but it is not based upon any solid foundations, least of all in suburban America. Sure, if you are an African Witness in a refugee camp, then you most likely will have a close knit community of fellow believers to depend upon and lend support to. Of course, this is not a unique occurence, but I can see how in such dire circumstances high moral standards and political neutrality can actually be an asset.
I once experienced a fine sense of community among Witnesses in a congregation in Japan. It was a great experience, no doubt about it. To a lesser extent I have felt it among the Hispanic Witnesses. While I have had good friends among English speaking Witnesses, the sense of community as a whole is very weak. Therefore, I understand the attempt to create unity of belief among Jehovah's Witnesses. However, the unity of purpose, soley expressed via the meetings and preaching, is sadly insufficient, and based on the content, ultimately counterproductive to the formation of healthy communities.

worked nightshift so woke at 2pm and went out to buy some beer and scotch and a cigar to smoke for the first time!
realized my wife had taken my credit card so went home...didn't have time to buy a cigar..damn!
6.30pm had a polish beer and started the barbie.
I had a great New Years eve. I went to a party with friends and neighbors where there was food, beer, and music. I took lots of nice pictures. At midnight everyone was saying "Felicidades! Happy New Year!" All the while giving hugs and shaking hands as fireworks went up around the neighborhood.
Despite the Witnesses claiming that such parties are "revelries" where immorality often occurs, it was a family oriented affair with children, the elderly, and everyone in between, all of them good people enjoying one another's company. For that matter I suspect that a majority of those present were Catholics.
Finally, at about 2:30 this morning I went home and got a bit of sleep. Happy New Year JWD!

''son, i want you to go down to earth and eventually get killed.
then i'll bring you back to life in heaven asap''.
how the hell do 'christians' justify calling that a sacrifice?.
Sorry. Just videos of Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies to insert a bit of humor.
