when i was a snobby zealous jw my whole world revolved around the wts.

now after being 20 years out, the wts to me is like pluto, it makes no difference in my life whatsoever.. when i read of the bull sh*t wts doctrine i just can't understand how i fell for it all.

i was so gullable.

When I read of the Bull Sh*t WTS doctrine I just can't understand how I fell for it all. I was so gullable. I belived everything the watchtower mags said and every thing that was said from the platform. I strained out the knat but gulped down the camel.

When I was a JW, I hated anyone who was not a JW I even made fun of them while going door to door. You know those poor worldly person are going to die at the big A unless I come a knocking. It has all been such a revelation to see the WTS for what it is and how weak a person I was for worshipping the watchtower.

The WTS wasted 30 years of my life and for that they are quilty I could have been better educated but the WTS did not encourage higher education. .

if you ask a jehovah`s witness what thier religion is,they will say:"i am a jehovah`s witness".....jehovah`s witness`s have preached the end of the world by 1975.it did not occur.if you ask them if they ever preached that,they will say no..ask them if god will only save jw`s at armageddon?they will say it`s up to god.yet at the kingdom hall they preach only jw`s will survive..there are many more examples.....my question is:"do jehovah`s witness`s betray thier own religion,when they are ordered to lie,by the watchtower bible and tract society,and do as they are told?

It's hard to betray a cult but I guess it is possible. JW believe everything coming from the control tower. I would say the GB is betraying god

The WTS and 9/11.

how many of you remember the scary pictures in the revelation book?

how many of you remember the images of the buildings on fire, crashing down on people?

did anyone notice that the wts did not push this book at all immediately following 9/11?

I don't think the WTS is any different than bin laden. The watchtower says that the cities will be destroyed at armageddon. That is not good because you can't just destroy a city without killing innocent civilians.

Why no e-mail and PDF?

i am new to the group, so i apologize in advance if this has been discussed.. i study comparitive religion, so my query is not so much anti-jw as it trying to understand.. on the jw site - both watchtower and jw-media, no jw magazines, brochures (save for some fact sheets from jw media) are available in pdf.

comparitively to other religions, they're more than happy to offer pdf brochures, magazines, tracts, etc., to get the word out.

moreover, there is no e-mail contact whatsoever - they are implicite that they don't repond to e-mail - except for the "want to learn more" page, presumably for recruitment.. i assume this is a thoughtout premeditated strategy related to distribution or containment, rather than simply not embracing technology.

Here we have the organization that Jehoover is using to save mankind and warn of impending doom and destruction yet the ungodly masses can't find an email address to the watchtower. There isn't even an online discussion forum where the ungodly can communicate with the governing body Why not?

What do the endless debates with ThirdWitness etc prove?

there are currently long debates going on with 3w about the subtle meaning of words and how they are supposed to prove the wts has the correct doctrine.

even as a jw i always noticed that it was impossible to prove a doctrine to people in the field.

the fact that 2 christians can discuss topics endlessly without any conclusion shows me that god can not possibly be going to destroy every non jw simply because they could not be convinced of watchtower doctrine.. the bible says very little about doctrine, besides pauls discussions to show jesus is our ransomer and means for everlasting heavenly life.

Positive discussions only for JW's in service

i had the opportunity to talk to two jw's in service today.

they were working a neigborhood that i had a job in.

i really tried to get a good discussion going , but they made it hard.

Ya Finally free they go to tim hortons at the drop of a hat. They love coffee because it helps them argue at the door. The pioneer sisters doing 90 hours a month must have huge gas and coffee bills. I wonder if the WTS pays for their expenses?

As in any large corporation the downsizing finally rears it's ugly head. They have purchased new machinery to put that finishing touch on the borg industrial machine, The WTS couldn't care less about the door to door work now anyway. Basically it's the GB in the control rooms pressing the buttons that actuate the machinery. Even the directives from the GB are on a computer disc.

DECLARATION OF TRUTHFULNESS

i was just at my sis for supper...it came up in conversation that when they (her and hubby) were on the last circuit assembly programme - relating an experience - he had to sign a declaration specifying that the experience was true.. i was completely taken aback by this...the irony etc...they were surprised that i was unaware of this.. funnily enough the reason it came up was that in a different talk an experience had been acted out that is almost certainly untrue..given that it happened to a girl who is seeing a psychiatrist for constant lieing...her father had the assembly part and must surely have also had to sign the declaration... had anyone else had to sign such a declaration or know someone who did.

I knew a weird JW once that did a part at a circuit assembly. He played the part of a wayward teenager that was smoking pot. The amazing thing is this dude smuggled an actual marijauna cigarette on the stage, did his part and then smoked the joint after the assembly. jehoovers holy spirit could not stop that. Actually, it was the high point of the whole assembly.
