  What a load of rubbish, this bit is typical:

  "You also have to remember that alot of the older generation are steriotypical anyway regardless of religion, as the new genereation of elders come in they show more compassion and kindness."

  In fact there is far less compassion, sympathy, empathy and kindness shown by the younger geneation of JW Elders than ever before.

  my mom was over today - she tried to steer the conversation a bit but i didn't take the bait (thanks to this board i knew she was gunning for the new tract "bad religion is bad" discussion.

  she had to go home because they were going "out" tonight - of course, i asked where.

  In a recent problem, the elders have enrolled 3 elderettes and an elderettes mother to take an active part in the so called solution to the problem, sorry to be vague at this time, if you have read my profile and some of my postings you will know why.

  I was baptised in 1963, within 2 weeks I was told I was giving my first Public Talk the following Sunday, they were 1 hour in those days.

  I took fright and stopped going to the meetings, shortly after I was offered a job in the USSR, UFA Bashkiria (just west of the Urals).

  I had a ball of a time, after a while all the locals called me Fokyc, it means in the local parlance 'Wonder worker' or Magician.

  I have always used it ever since, I have a hard hat with it written across the front!

  Why are elders so serious?

  all that they do, they seem so stiff and serious.

  often i will see elders still dressed in a suit hours before or after a meeting.

  i'll see other elders cars parked in front of an elders home, and they are in a meeting discussing something serious.. can't these guys relax a bit and get a life out of the borg?.

  this may not be as amusing to the members here as it is to me, but i would like to say that irony is my favorite thing.

  i was doing some searches in the watchtower library cd 05 and it was crunching the numbers on the loads of bull crap it found.

  all was going well until i decided to do a search for "witchcraft"... when the program crashed, gave me fatal error, and shut down.

  Does anyone know the figure for 1988 Average publishers

  i am doing some research and can not find on the cd the figure the average publishers in 1988. does anyone have a 1989 jan 1 watchtower or 1989 yearbook in hard copy so that they can look up the figure for me?.
