  I am unable to post much more detail as there are 2 more Crown Court cases pending! These are allied to this case but relate to NON JW's

  Your remarks re elders are interesting, in fact they disliked the whole family, as they occupied too much space and were often late for the meetings, which caused disruption. At one time the family was 10 strong.

  The elder who is mentioned in the press, visited the houses often, to do building work for them, the children could have spoken to him or his sons.

  The girl who left home in about 2003 is the biological sister of the 2 boys, why when she left home didn't she report the matters to the authorities? IF it is all true, she left her own brothers in this abusive household.

  Have you ever tried to keep a 14 year old sat in a wheelchair ALL day when they didn't need to?

  I have to stand by what the jury has decided.

  It is an interesting fact that the woman who is now 21, who says she was made to stay in a wheelchair, is now a baptised JW.

  At Bristol Assembly Hall in November 2004 she said she was shortly going to be assessed for a new wheelchair in Oxford.

  Eunice Spry was not there to make her stay in it, she struggled with getting around for the Assembly when she had NO need. WHY?

  The other children are not JW's.

  Spry, from Tewkesbury, was found guilty of 26 charges of cruelty after a three week trial at Bristol Crown Court. A court order banned any reporting of the case until today.

  Today Gloucestershire County Council were adamant nothing like this could ever happen again.

  Jo Grills, Chair of the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Board, said: "Eunice Spry is someone who other parents trusted with their children. She deliberately set out to deceive those parents and all of the agencies involved over a twenty-year period.

  "The role of the Safeguarding Board is to make sure that we learn lessons from what has happened in order to prevent similar situations occurring in the future.

  "Although these children were seen by many different professionals, few were a consistent presence. Information was not shared so that it was impossible for anyone to have a clear picture.

  "As a result of the Victoria Climbie enquiry, one of the significant safeguards now in place is the requirement for agencies to work far more closely together and for information to be shared."

  JW's and Artificial Insemination

  are jw's allowed to try this to aid in getting pregnant?

  not sure if it applies to the recent canada sextuplets.. forgive my ignorance but doesn't the husband have to masturbate to produce the sperm which is a no-no in jw land?.

  i know a 'sister' who is over the moon that her daughter (non jw) has finally conceived after trying for over 10 years.

  A case of human artificial insemination was recorded as long ago as 1799. But in recent years this has come to be more widely practiced. According to TheNewYorkTimes, a woman who is artificially inseminated and bears a child for another woman, as a substitute for her, is called a surrogate mother. The infertile wife and her husband agree to this arrangement, and when the surrogate mother gives birth the baby is adopted by the couple. The sperm in this case could be from the husband of the couple or from another donor.

  Although such an arrangement may be approved by many in the world, the Christian rightfully asks whether it is in harmony with God’s laws. The Bible, at Leviticus 18:20, is clear on this point when it says: "You must not give your emission as semen to the wife of your associate to become unclean by it." Artificial insemination of a woman by a donor other than her legal husband, makes her guilty of adultery, a sin against God. (Deuteronomy 5:18) The sperm donor and the surrogate woman have not been yoked together by God in matrimony.—Matthew 19:4-6
