Definitely what publishers get out of the assemblies in information, spiritual comforting, Biblical knowledge and comradery with fellow JWs is plenty and priceless.

by James_Slash ini cannot speak for other countries, but it has become evident of late that more and more talks are being done by presiding overseers at kh's (especially in the west midlands) and they are making it quite clear that they are expecting 3 from every publisher (per day) who visit the dudley assembly hall, west midlands to contribute towards the upkeep of it.. the quote from the po's who have done this talk have said that "it is expected that each publisher will put 3 into the box on each day".. what do you think of that then?
as the world hits an economic breakdown the jw's seem to maximising their income from struggling families.. dudley assembly hall holds about 600-700 people.
i'm sure people are capable of doing the maths.. so much for voluntary contributions !!

What does God need with a Starship or with the F&DS?
by moshe init's funny how asking a simple question brings down a religious house of cards- just why does god need the f&ds, the gb, or even any puny humans to accomplish his will?
jws refuse to ask a simple question, like, where can i find just one genuine member of the f&ds?
they know that asking questions of the wt religion means retribution from the stooge elders who mete out their official punishment to doubters of the gb.

The Elders in my wifes congregation are NOT capable/able to give an honest answer to anything!
A simple question about the F&DS will receive no answer at all, just a load of lies!

help.. urgently a friend has spirits in her house priest removed then can they come to me if she s in my home.
by suzanne.dickenson inplease advise i was brought up as a witness and know the faith of jehovah very well i choose not to follow my dad as a witness as i didnt like the way he taught me the truth hence i know its true.. we are having a party at our house for chikdren ans a mum at the school has been invited she told me shes devestated as she has a ghost and its touching the kids on the landing................. i t freaked me out oviously its saturn the devil or his spirits, i came home said a prayer to jehovah as i do quite often to protect us etc.
if she arrives at my hpome can the spirts come here, please advise as i dont want to put my family inthis situation , she has told me a priest has taken it away... i dont believe it............ my dad is a elder of the congregation hence we dont speak, he always taught me stay well away and youll be ok, so even though its gone from herehouae id love your thoughst so i can maybe cancell her calling, i certainly wouldnt keep any gift from her in my home... many thanks suzanne dickenson.. .

You need help!
The spirits will come with this woman to your party and probably take over.
Just don't allow her to come to the party or her children.
Seek urgent help from the local congregation of JW's; they will help you see the error of your ways.

It's Really Just a Social Club
by Eiben Scrood inat least for many..... i remember looking around at meetings and so many in the audience seemed to be in another world.
people would get up and talk at the back shamelessly.
meetings were a good opportunity to make plans with friends.

Where in the Bible does it say God is omniscient?
by sabastious ini don't care about scriptures that say god is "all knowing" or "know all my hairs on my head" cause that could all be done without being omniscient.
are there any bible verse's that speak specifically of god's omniscience?.

Now why would the WT not ask former elders the 3rd question?
by wheelwithinwheel inin chapter 3 of ks-10, paragraph 13 (page 35), the wt corp provides the precise questions that are to be asked aspiring elders before announcing their appointment.
there are only 2 for qualifying brothers who have served previously.
brothers not having served before must be asked a 3rd.. .

The exact wording:
13. In every case, the elders must ask the following
questions: "Is there anything from your past,
even before baptism, or in your personal or family
life that disqualifies you or that would prevent you
from accepting this appointment? Is there any reason
why your appointment should not be announced to
the congregation?" If the brother has not previously
served as an elder or a ministerial servant, ask the following
question: "Have you ever been involved at
any time in the past with child sexual molestation?"
If he answers yes to any of these questions, do not announce
the appointment. Return the S-2 form or
5-52 appointment letter to the branch office, and provide
a complete explanation as to why the appointment
should be annulled. If the brother answers no
to these questions and accepts the appointment, the
elders might direct his attention to information provided
by "the faithful and discreet slave" that will
help him fulfill his new privilege of service.- Matt. 24:45; od caps. 5-6.
Notice also that IF he accepts the appointment "the elders MIGHT direct his attention..."
