Why do they keep lying to ME?
Why do they lie, when they say they have the truth?
What do they achieve by doing this?
Do they teach elders to lie at these special schools?

they lied non stop to me and even when i pointed out their lies they still did not tell the truth.. do they really think that they will win people into their cult by lying to them?
don't they think about what will happen when the person finds out they have been lying to them?.

So much for Watchtower, er, Bible studies
by dgp inon another thread, i wondered whether there was an objective way to determine the effect that the internet is having on new people being attracted into the watchtower.
i get the general impression that, while we can certainly know that the internet has been crucial in quite a few people leaving, or never joining, there is no statistics that would tell us something like "millions now living didn't join because of what they read on a website".. that's for background.
now i would like to see the question the other way around.

Kingdom Halls may well have many books, which include the bound volumes; BUT
when could anyone read these? My wife's KH opens just 10 - 15 minutes before the meeting starts and they are so keen to close it after the meetings that going to the bathroom is problematic as you could get locked in!
They do not encourage reading books from the KH library.

is there anyway to go back and read previous pages?
i have to wait two to four hours at a time to go back into the ccu to see my husband, so i have plenty of time to catch up on my jwn reading.

I have page numbers top and bottom, perhaps it is the ads Google insert in your area, they sometimes obscure some of the page.

but i was running ahead some (korah and i are thick as thieves!
) and noticed in the 'announcements' the 'memorial' falls on thursday april 5th!.

do the jw'swant you to not associate non jw's
by not a jw inmy wife became a witness a few yrs after we had gotten married and i was wondering if the jw's believe that they should not socialize with people who are not jw's?i had some neighbors when i was younger and their kids who were close to my age said that that was their beliefs being witnesses.i ask my wife that and she says that isnt true.does it differ from congregation to congregation or is someone trying to cover up something?

A very warm welcome to you, 'not a jw'.
You are on a very steep learning curve regarding the JW's and their beliefs and practices. I remember in 1952 asking the same questions as you do now, my wife also said the same as yours! I have managed to just live with the JW's since then; many can not succeed at that.
The JW's are NOT the people they make out to be, they live in 'cloud Cuckoo land'.
Keep reading the posts here with some discernment and you will learn a great deal from people who have been through your experience.
