  How come it was Our Kingdom Ministry then it was Our Kingdom Service then it was changed back to Our Kingdom Ministry?

  it was okm in the old days 50s and 60s then it was our kingdom service in the 70's then they changed it back again??????.

  this is the publication used at the service meeting thursday nights showing how to preach in the territory..

  As you will notice, the monthly publication that has for many years been called "Kingdom Ministry" has had its name changed to "Our Kingdom Service," beginning with this January 1976 issue. In this way the thought of service expressed by the Greek Scripture term di·a·ko·ni′a is more fully conveyed. This change primarily affects just a few languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. Why these? Because in the other languages in which this monthly publication is printed, the title already contains the corresponding word for "service," the reason being that there had been a problem in translating "ministry" accurately into those languages. So this new title in our language will bring the name of this publication into closer harmony with that used elsewhere around the world.

  Today's WT Study Stupidity About Df'ing

  in today's watchtower study, towards the end, you had one of those typical comments by a former df'ed witness expressing appreciation for being shunned.

  these comments always remind me of a stalinist show trial in which the accused enthusiastically accepts being executed for the greater good (probably to save his family).. after this kind of nonsense is expressed, you will get a flurry of self righteous comments emphasizing how important it is to shun your disfellowshipped relatives, so that they can come back in the "truth".. oh, really?

  do any of these people raising their hand realize that, if the "success" of disfellowshipping depends on your shunning, then the "repentant" person is "coming back in the truth" for the sake of their relatives -and not because of fearing jehovah !!!???.

  i was wondering if there are any comprehensive timelines available, jw or otherwise?

  i am looking for a diagram that lists the biblical characters and events and the years they were born/died and occurred - all in a summary type format.. .

  Is this normal witness behavior?

  i quit my bible study a couple days ago after taking a month or two to work up the guts.

  have been getting harassing emails/phone calls blah blah blah.

  but i got an email today telling me that an unbelieving spouse can be "sanctified" by his believing mate.

  Got the personal Memorial invite last night.

  we were sitting on the patio out the back of the house having acouple of drinks before we went out for a meal, i can't eat on an empty stomach, have to have a drink first !.

  the doorbell rang, i answered it, and it was a "sister" i have known all my 61 years of life, with a mem.

  invite in her hand, i told her to keep it, we already had one.

  well technically it is an anniversary invite/special talk invite.

  the car group was just here.

  i was home but hiding and my husband got the door.. i want to tell them exactly why i am not going , but i haven't got my head quite there yet.. i think i am gonna have to just decline!.

  they know exactly what Jesus looks like now! You can't mustn't argue about it.

  What to do when a job makes you unhappy?

  i started a new job last month- just 3 miles down the street.

  i am the maintenance coordinator at a 42 room assisted living community i was pretty excited to get hired as i had been trying to get a job in that field for over two years since i retired from my primary occupation in 2008. my father lived in one of these communites for a couple years before he passed away and so do my inlaws right now.

  however, after a couple weeks i am not so happy here.
