again, as before, many many thanks to fokyc for the scans; i've pdf'd them and made them searchable.. there is mention of 1914 in this edition and mention of 144,000. .
i'll make no more comments until you've had a chance to read it.. we thought it might be interesting to compare the new formats (study vs public).

dear readers of revelation,.
i have been reminded that a simple question is more effective than an elaborate presentation.
i have become very careful about what i say and how much i say to most people.
The famous 'claw' has been discussed before,
I can't remember when though.

i just watched reign over me.
adam sandler has come a long way as an actor, and i thought he did very well portraying the feelings someone has who keeps the pain of emotional tragedy inside.
i'll never feel ok about all the damage caused by me when i was at my worst.. the movie also made me think about me and my relationships and us as a group of people affected by something so tragic in some cases.
Simply to warn others that the JW's are NOT the nice people they try to make out they are,
after the 'love bombing' comes the control and the lies, I know, I have tolerated it for nigh on 55 years!

when you were a jw, did others ever tell you that you were "oversensitive"?
how about now?
?
YES, I was oversensitive then and the PO and elders regularly told me. I was oversensitive to their lies!
I am still oversensitive, they don't tell me so often as they don't call, but they still tell Sister fokyc, "Your husband is over sensitive, needs to lighten up, needs to get a life and uses the internet TOO much!."

Our 1st Microwave always had to be covered up every Tuesday for the bookstudy,
it was modern technology and the elders said we shouldn't have one.
Sister fokycs PO has written to the branch recently telling them I use the internet too much!
What a bunch of idiots

jws are officially told the "right" reason for baptism is a heart motivated out of love and appreciation for all jehovah has done combined with the desire to please him.
now let's get real.
be honest.
1963 when I was 30, pleased my wife!
She and the elders told me it was the right thing to do!

55 years a Watchtower slave
i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.
It is obliquely mentioned here in 1975:

Does a substantial health danger justify having an abortion?
Illustrating that such dangers must be viewed as still only possibilities is the case of a woman in South Africa. Before she was aware of her pregnancy she received an injection for a kidney ailment. Later her doctor said that, as a result, her child would be either an imbecile or horribly deformed; he urged her to have an abortion. When she learned from Jehovah’s witnesses what the Bible says about respect for life, she declined the abortion. She realized that, even if her child was damaged, Jehovah could undo the damage in the coming New Order. (Compare Isaiah 35:5, 6; Revelation 21:4.) What was the outcome? She gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
But even if her daughter had been affected and needed extra care and treatment, would that change the rightness of deciding to let the girl live, with the prospect of eternal life?
Consequently, a woman who has been urged to have a therapeutic abortion because of a danger to her health or life, or to her child, needs to fix in mind the Bible’s view. A possibleorpotential danger, even a grave one, does not justify taking matters into one’s own hands and deliberately cutting off the life of the child in the womb. Deciding according to the Scriptural view will take real faith and courage, but it assuredly will be the proper decision, and one that Jehovah will approve of forever.
