I do, and I believe he is male, and he has emotions like us.
When God made us in his image, he gave us the ability to experience the same emotions he experiences.
Love, hate, jealousy, anger.
He does not experience the emotion of fear. He reserved that for humans.
Thus the term "God fearing" Christian.
Can you think of non-human animals that you can say actually feel love, hate, anger or jealousy?
No, these are the emotions of God passed on to us, from him.

How many of you believe in God, but not the Bible as His word?
by chappy inif you do believe in god but not that the bible is his word what are your core beliefs and how did you arrive at them?
even if you don't believe in the bible as the word of god, do you find it useful/helpful in your faith?
do you still adhere to any particular religion?

Data from a recent pew report indicates:
---
Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition. Only 37% of all those who say they were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses still identify themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses.
--
The GB probably looks at this and asks themselves how they can take control back.
"Independent thinking" is encouraged in college.
Think about it people. The Org actually says "independent thinking" is a bad thing. -

I wonder if Noah was annoyed by the sexual practices of Bonobo's on the ark.
Everytime Noah came to feed them, they would start humping each other. -

Donnie talking to Frank the bunny:
Donnie: Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?
Frank: Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?
I love that line.
And for those that have seen the movie:
"Dammit, Donnie. Why you gotta get all smart on us?"
I love that scene. -

I was a young teenager who would never get a drivers license, never go to high school,
never kiss a girl...
I finished high school and I drive now.
In all seriousness, the imagery of what would happen at Armagedon was scary.
But most scary was all the talks about the torture I would undergo to test my faith.
A CO described the human bodies defense mechanism of going into shock when it could take no
more pain. He even described tortures that may be used and the tortures that were being used
on JW's in Africa, Malawi. Spokes from bicycle wheels jammed into the calves of men who were then made
to walk in pain. From the stage these things were described. Rape and torture spoken of from the stage.
I was not looking forward to this at all! -

I think I just broke the tele-market man
by whitman inwell, today is one of those procrastinatey days, i'm at home alone with the cat who is dazzling me with her new tricks.
so i got pretty excited when the tele-marketer man called to discuss a new and fantastic mobile phone deal.
i managed to keep him on the phone for 32 minutes as i explained to him that i could only use a blue telephone due to a specific type of colour blindness that i have....which i do not have.... turns out they just don't make blue phones.

I was lonely in my apartment years ago, and a woman with a sexy voice called trying to sell me a magazine subscription.
She hung up when my flirtation "crossed the line". Black underwear was all the detail I could get out of her. She may have
been lying. I guess I'll never know... -

Witness fear of demons why?
by donny induring my ten year sojourn through the watchtower, i was always amazed at the witnesses fear and fascination with demons.
occasionally at gatherings, they would exchange "demon" stories, which were just a jw way of telling ghost stories, and you would usually hear a few "uhhs" and "oh my's" as the story was told.
although i had heard folks of other denominations mention demons, it was never with the "shock and awe" the witnesses put into it.

Back in the eighties I bought a used white stratocaster with a blonde neck from a local music store.
It was a little banged up, and had a few buzzy frets, but when played with enough distortion, the buzzy frets
were not noticable. I don't use whammy bars on these strats since they throw the guitar out of tune. What I
do is pull the back plate on the guitar and tighten the springs until the bridge sits flat against the body
of the guitar. Well, the backplate on this used strat was held on by two screws, and when I pulled the screws
and removed the plate, I found someones small stash of pot back there.
The guitar was previously owned by a "pothead".
OK, thats a preface to the real story.
I was home alone one night listening to music in the living room, and drinking. I had a combo CD with lots of various artists
on it, mostly guitar. I came to a triple shot of Hendrix on the CD: "Third stone from the sun", "Are you experienced",
and my favorite "Voodoo Chile". I like strumming along with "Voodoo Chile", so I go downstairs and get my previously
pothead owned stratocaster and my practice amp. I bring them upstairs and set up next to the stereo.
I just start playing, and the phone rings.
I kill the volume and go to the kitchen to pick up the phone. The phone stops ringing just as I pick it up.
(This was before caller ID, so I had no idea who had called.) So I go back to the living room and crank up the music again.
I was playing along for a few minutes, and the phone started ringing again. I ignored it this time, but after 10 rings,
I decided to go answer it.
I said "Hello?".
On the other end of the line I heard a voice. It was my mom. She said:
"Your dad and I are going to California for two weeks, and we were hoping you would come take care of our house while we are gone."
I said "Sure, no problem".
So I hung up the phone and went back into the living room and rocked out for a couple more hours and then went to bed. -

Jesus picked our religion as the one true religion in 1918, and if you don't pick it too, you will die! -

I was raised in "the Truth". I had doubts as early as age 13. (1975 came and went...)
There were special moments at meetings. I remember an elder giving a talk, and
he quoted Phillipians 2:9:
" For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name,"
And the elder said right after the quote "except Jehovah's name of course."
And I thought "WTF?!"
I had a lot of those WTF moments at meetings. Years of them. -

Anywhere that the majority of the population can google "jehovahs witnesses", the numbers will decline.
