Avocados, yes! Have you ever had a melted cheese/sauteed mushroom/sprouts/avocado sandwich? It's money in the bank.
Double edge, I had Lindt 70% cocoa for breakfast this mornin! There not I suppose of the "expensive" variety, but Hersheys not "special dark" but the 65% cocoa, esp. with blueberries/cranberries/almonds is quite delicious.
I only like grapenuts if they are positively drowned in Sugar. I love cocoa pebbles!
The grapenuts crunch cereal is fairly good

I Am Compelled To Post About Ice Cream
by smellsgood ini don't know if this would be considered "advertising" or against any posting guidelines, but i have found something that is so delicious i don't feel it would be right to not to put this out there, it is worthy of a subject of its own on jwd.
this could become to the good citizens on this board, a sublime life affirming experience, a turning point even.

My Sweet Lord
Do yourself a favor, I don't know if it will strike all men's fancies, but I can pretty much assure every lady on this board that you will love these like your firstborn child.
Paradise has arrived! And you can find it in the frozen section at Wal-Mart. About 3 bones.
Anybody else have something edible they get thrilled to bits about like me?

This happened locally, if your a parent ... learn from it
by free2beme inthis is a small town area.
i actually used to live about three houses down from these people.
when i read of something like this, it makes me all the more careful as a parent and never assume anything when it comes to your young children.

: I think it is stupid to own vehicles like that to run local errands in when you live in suburbs.
I couldn't agree more. -

Poor guy! He has got to be beyond heartbroken right now.
You know, something that makes me terribly angry is the carelessness of mostly I would say teenage drivers through PARKING LOTS where there are many little children who could escape from more long enough for an accident to occur. The retards who whiz through like its talledaga just make me want to stuff a sock in the dual jackedup mufflers.
It's just a tragedy waiting to happen. Not only this, but their common discourtesy to park in the closest parking spots when there are women with children and old people who need them more. Hmmph.
SirNose, my Uncle and Aunt have 12 children. It's just expected now that we'll get a card in the mail every year or two to tell us she's pregnant. And she delivers them at home with a mid-wife!! The oldest one (6 mos. older than me) just got married. I would be surprised if she wanted more than one child growing up taking care of smaller ones all her life.

I think I wish I ran into them more often!! I always run into Mormons not JW's :(
sorry guys, it's not a sore spot since I haven't been one. I just think I'd love to have more opportunity to de-dub. -

Holding Discussion on the dubs
by KW13 ini was invited to my uncles home, to tell their church group about the witnesses.
i don't want to talk about myself, or personal experiences but rather facts/things that happened.
any ideas?

The things that struck me most when I first was learning of the WT were
*blood
*teaching about 144,000
*1914 being a date of any significance, then everything surrounding that
*teaching that Jesus was Michael the Archangel in pre -exis form.
*FALSE PROPHECIES
*How the WT talks about "associations"
*How the WT talks about itself being God's "mouthpiece"
I think those are things outsiders don't generally know about, and it would be good if they were not ignorant of :)

Headed to Berlin Germany on Sept 3rd What shouldnt we Miss?
by Asheron inthe wife (originally from stuttgart germany) and i are going there for the first time.
any suggestions?
no kingdom hall addresses please...lol

OMG, I missed this for a bit.
Why haven't any Germans replied to this btw? lol
I've been to Berlin, so I second Jasons suggestion, don't miss kadawe, it is phenomenal. Only, make sure you don't fondle any of their dresses, you will get a german lady speaking at you for an entire minute words you don't understand until "zwei tousand drei hundert funfzig mark (now euro)" and then you go "ooooh, das ist teuer!" (that's expensive)
The top floor (food floor suhhhhhhhhhhhweeet) is unreal. Cheeses, meats, pastries, wines, liquors, restaurants, fantastic in every way.
Don't miss seeing the Reichstag! Brandenberg Gate, the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche (located Breitscheidplatz near the ku'damm shopping street), Potsdamer Platz!!! (some of the best food I've had, I forget the restaurant name, across from the Sony store there anyways), Fernsehturm (the big discoball looking rotating T.V. tower)
And for the best views in my opinion, climb the narrow staircase of the Siegessäule in the center of the Tiergarten.
If at all possible, you must not miss taking the S-bahn to Potsdam!! Visit Prince Freidrichs palaces, the schloss Charlottenberg (which unfortunately was I was not able to) and Sanssouci (meaning "without a care" which I was able to see! Tour the grounds around that estate, there are little golden buildings that are very fairytale like)
hope you have a great trip. Would you mind sharing some photos once you get back??

thirdwitness can you......
by Alwayshere intell me how long babylon had world power?
i have asked this before and you never answered so maybe that organization you love so much doesn't know.

I don't think thirdwitness is really interested in truth, just in being right. I believe he is a cowardly debater who will only engage in debates of his choosing, in what he believes to be "area of expertise." I don't believe he has an honest bone in his body, or will be able to disentangle his WT psychoses long enough to see any information reasonably.
Otherwise I would love to ask him what he thinks constitutes a false prophet, and if he believes the bible when it says that to watch out for them, there will be false prophets among you, and how we could identify them.
But I don't think he would engage in that arena since he is a dishonest coward.</div> -

The Gentiles Times Reconsidered--Again but this Time By Using the Bible
by thirdwitness inthink about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

that is often only achieved through vigorous, and sometimes bloody debate, as can be evidenced by many on this board who were once believers until their beliefs were challenged and they were forced to face them head on.
smellsgood: THAT is what I am wholeheartedly interested in! Believe me, if this is the case then, I will come out with guns blazing more often! I really love vigorous bloody debate, so much so I've tried to temper it and play nice. I get torn about which way to go about things. If by any measure I will lovingly feather them away from apostasy, I will do a complete 180 in that case. As long as the end result is one less WT slave, knives out then if thats what it takes. :)

My mom calls to chew me out about my college... YIKES!!!
by FreedomFrog inso, i was happy and celebrating because of getting good grades in my courses, well i get a call from my mom.
at first the phone call was just "hi, how are you" then she laid into me saying my "problem" (meaning my divorce) was because i was putting my education first and not jah.
she goes on to tell me that the "talk today" was about people murmuring as israelites and bad things happened to them.
-
smellsgood
ugh. Jah didn't give you a mind so you could use it silly!
You know, wasn't Paul a highly educated person? Unfortunately, the Bible also says that man eats by the "sweat of his brow." In other words, you gotta work to eat. pfft. And thankfully there are many pursuits that you can feed yourself and maybe have some spare change for orphans or whatever that aren't heavy manual labor.
What is "murmuring" the Watchtowers new pet expression? I guess they are trying to convey something sinister when someone is "murmuring" about something. "murmurs against Jehovah's earthly organization." Beware the murmurs.
