Awesome!
I like the driving around with the Christmas tree on top bit!
Were you IN that meeting though? ha ha
They're so paranoid about the internet.
It's to the point where they should really believe that the recipe for Nestle Choc. Chip cookies on the internet is something completely different than that on the package. Instead of chocolatey and delicious, its subversive, taken out of context and likely to contain multiple strands of STDs.
They're so taken in.

Selling A House
by smellsgood inhow many houses have you sold?
what was your experience like?
did you have a realtor or not?

Thank you everyone for your experiences and advice!
Target, I noticed that! It's like, go ahead and get a crummy house just because this one doesn't have wireless access which would cost 500 bones. Let's put it this way, if you can't afford to put in wireless access yourself, you can't afford this house.
Legolas, How did you go about selling it specifically before you had a realtor?
Mama, dang skippy, that is quick! Which area in Idaho was that? Up by Couer d'Alene or down by Boise? -

the situation is this: my beloved nephew, her husband (he is like a son to me) was baptized and "faded" many years ago.
unfortunately, he has always vassilated on the subject of whether the jw's have "the (t)ruth".

Would this offend you, if the government made this policy
by free2beme inif the government had this policy .... given that 100% of the terrorist who did 9/11 were arab, and most terrorist are arab.
we as a government will racially profile the arab population and visitors to our country.
spending more time inspecting them, checking them out, and making sure that they are singled out and watched more then any other race.. would this offend you?.

"It's plausible that if they'd taken color out of their police work, they could have caught the man much sooner."
Interesting to know.
If they strictly rely lazily on a profile too, they are going to be made fools sooner or later. There's other evidence too ;)
That would be too much of a tunnel vision. To exclude good EVIDENCE pointing to someone who doesn't fit the "profile" and ignore it would be folly. -

I'll be honest with you. If I find a certain celebrity annoying, dumb, pampered, etc. I will get exceedingly irritated when they spout certain views off. Look, we know you're all politically correct hoosiers.
But, if its somebody I like, respect, admire, and isn't pompous or pampered in their celebrityhood, I am more likely to give an ear. -

What movie disappointed you the most, what one impressed you the most?
by free2beme inthere have been occasion in my life, that movies have come out that i looked so forward to seeing.
then i see them, and i am so disappointed in the finish product.
then there are movies i go to see thinking, why am i wasting my time with this junk, and then i end up finding this movie to be something enjoyable and in some cases fantastic.

There are many more movies that disappoint me than impress me.
One that I wasn't expecting to impress me but did, was Sense and Sensibility. Great film.
I hated the new Star Wars pretty much.
I don't expect much out of movies so, I'm not usually let down, but I was a nerd and expecting more from star wars!
LOTR didn't disappoint.
Howl's moving Castle was great.
The worst film by far that I have ever had the displeasure of "seeing" (I turned it off about halfway, nauseous) was a film I guess made in the 70's or something called "Caligula" starring Malcom Macdowell.
ugh. I was interested in it because I had read "I, Claudius" and was hoping for the historical part of the story mostly. I found Caligula to be the most humorous part of the story. Tiberius (the emporer during part of Jesus' life) was actually nastier than Caligula.
All I got was girls titties. (ok, I think 10 guys just probably ordered this from netflix :) -

Oh, man, I thought it was going to be about mini food. Itty bitty muffins and such. Ickle cheeseburgers.
But it does sound interesting. I'm all for that kind of stuff, unless it proves harmful of course. I just love new technologies. Especially when it goes to the cellular/molecular level. How exciting!
I'm all for genetic engineering too. It would be so sad if nectarines didn't exist, but the do thanks to GE. -

The simple fact is there are six billion people in the world. There are thousands of flights each day. There are not enough "screeners" to thoroughly look over everyone, so you must narrow it down. A way to do this is profiling.
When you are dealing with a serial killer, the profile is from past cases and such, that the perpetrator will be a white male, intelligent, difficult upbring, history of instability/substance abuse etc.
The whole idea is to narrow the field. This does not mean excluding possibility of differences by any means, or having your focus so narrowed you miss those would be perpetrators who don't exactly match.
its necessary.
Common sense, use discresion, there are stories of people being detained for their appearance. Well, duh, like I said, if it was blue/blonde causing trouble, I would expect to be more closely scrutinized, and wouldn't want every other citizen to have to be put through the ridiculousness of having their sunblock stolen or tweezers taken when common sense instead of plaster rules and treating everybody with suspicion just to make it look like were not singling anyone out.
So, historically as far as I know there have been no black male serial killers, I could be wrong. So when serial murderers start happening, having that structure to work with helps narrow down to hopefully find the criminal in a vast population.
Of course, the emphasis is ridiculous too. You're more likely to die in a car accident by far in America than a terrorist attack. Why aren't they outlawing cars?
You're more likely to die from electrocution from a toaster than by flying.
